About this deal

The biggest benefit of this pedal is that it’s reversible, meaning you can use either your left or right foot to play. You just need to change the pedal around after adjusting one screw. Not everyone will be comfortable with the same cajon pedal setup, so it’s important to see what adjustment options are offered with every pedal. The carry bag that comes with the pedal is a huge bonus. Most other cajon pedals don’t come with one, so you need to transport them around somehow when playing gigs. The included carry bag here is just very convenient.

We deemed it fit to get you acquainted with other Cajon accessories apart from the Cajon pedal. We are set to give you the list of the vital Cajon accessories in this section to educate further about the basic things you need to know about the Cajon. The list of Cajon accessories are as follows: The remote cable isn’t as long as the Gibraltar one. However, it still adds some extra maneuverability to the pedal. The most important feature of this cable is that there's virtually no delay between the pedal and the beater. A highlight of the pedal is the beater. It just sounds so good when placed near the sweet spot of the cajon. Whether you’re a drummer or guitarist, you’re going to love the tone it brings out. The features of this Cajon pedal are worthy of mention here. A smooth, silent three-inch Cable system as well as a mounting plate are included. The mounting plate allows you to install the Cajon easily. Another great functionality you need to be aware of is the Patent-pending beater. The Patent-pending beater honestly reproduces the sound a palm striking the front style. Another fact about this drum is that it comes with snares or wire that rattles against the ‘tapa’ face located in the front of the instrument. This creates a sound that is typical of what you will get from a Snare drum on a drum kit.

Tech Specs

With this product, you can be sure that you’ll get resistant materials that are well assembled. Just pay attention to the cable, and you’ll definitely enjoy adding this to your cajon. It also comes with three separate linkage connections that allow you to choose how far away the pedal gets placed from the cajon. This gives you different playing options that you can choose according to how comfortable they feel to you. Meinl is a company that is most well-known for their high-quality cymbals. Loved by many drummers, their products are highly sought after and used in a variety of situations.

The beater part connects to the cajon with a heavy base metal piece. This makes the pedal feel even more secure when you play it. It also has a slightly offset design which DW claim boosts cajon performance a bit. Need a cajon pedal? Simply put? Buy this or save your pennies till you can buy this or you will regret it. The pedal allows players to use standard hand techniques, giving them the opportunity to create grooves as well as an avenue for rhythm playing. The groove creation and other rhythmic flexibilities were not achievable before this time. If you’re looking for a cheaper pedal without any of the bells and whistles of more expensive pedals, this is a good one to get.

Customer Reviews

The only thing to consider is the tiny screws that might fall off, so I’d recommend tightening or even gluing them. The design is quite simple but effective, and the whole thing is made of metal, so it certainly won’t break. And the beater will give an excellent and low sound. This cajon pedal is incredibly good value and feels solid and well constructed. It's quality is well above its price tag. Well done Thomann. It has a smooth action and the beater creates a decent sound (although it might produce a deeper tone if the beater rod was shorter and therefore able to hit lower down on the head?) The company’s secondary focus is their percussion division. Meinl Percussion offers the exact same high-quality products as Meinl Cymbals. This cajon pedal is proof of that. The two main types of pedals you’ll find for cajons are direct drive and cable pedals. Cable pedals are also commonly referred to as wired pedals. Direct drive pedals work very similarly to standard bass drum pedals that you use with acoustic drums. However, a few cajon pedals, such as the direct-drive options from Meinl, have a thin pedal bar that controls the beater. These feel a bit different to play compared to standard pedals, but they tend to work very well.

The beater is quite long, rather than round, and it’s extra padded to give a similar sound to the one you’d get with the palm of your hand. And while the solid angled shaft is convenient, it does limit the position of the pedal compared to the cajon, because the shaft can only turn for a given range of angles ... With my long legs I couldn't find a very comfortable position by sitting aligned with the cajon, I have to turn myself a bit which isn't a big deal since I'm not playing the cajon with my hands anyway. If you are looking for a Cajon pedal that is designed to enhance your performance, you don’t need to look elsewhere; Gibraltar is the Cajon pedal of choice. You will be pleased to know that this product comes with a strap drive as well as a mount to enhance playability. Wenn man etwas dranrumbastelt aka die Trittplatte austauscht ist es ein, kind-of-okay Pedal. Für mich war es aber ohne diesen Eingriff eigentlich nicht spielbar. This DW Direct Linkage pedal is the best option to get if you want the highest-quality pedal possible. It offers the same excellent response as the previous pedal, but you get a full footboard to play on that makes it feel a lot more comfortable.

This is a great budget choice, ideal for drummers who look for flexible placement and intend to use it on occasional acoustic gigs. Most cajon pedals will come with soft felt or rubber beaters . Some are larger than others, with the larger ones producing rounder sounds from the cajon. In summary, the DW cajon pedal is a very functional device with a solid build, and will surely allow you to play comfortably. A Cajon is a box that a player sits on and creates rhythm through the combination of high tones and deep brass. Cajon comes in different shapes and sizes. The common Cajon size has this specification – 45cm high by 30cm wide by 12cm deep. The Cajon comes with sound hole at the rear end. The sound holes enable the deeper bass tones to escape, allowing the Cajon to produce a wide range of frequencies. The Meinl Direct Drive Cajon Pedal is a popular option for cajon players. The most unique thing about it is the pedal pressing design, as it has a thin rod to place your foot on instead of a standard bass drum pedal. You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail.
