There’s not so much here for children to enjoy but the basics are covered. The watch is chunky but comfortable on the wrist and the 240 x 240 pixel 1.4in touchscreen is both bright and responsive. There’s a choice of watch faces and the ubiquitous step counter, which award kids with coins for activity. Like most kids smartwatches, the Xplora X5 Play features an SOS button for emergencies. But we think it takes too long for the SOS sequence to start. Your kid has to press the button for a full 10 seconds.

In terms of what it actually delivered, it was 2.5-3 days and that was based on putting most of the key features to use. Making use of the phone features and the camera seem to cause the biggest drains. Because the watch uses GPS, Wi-Fi, and cellular to determine its location, I found the results generally accurate. However, it would report the watch to be nowhere near its actual location from time to time. This is likely attributed to the X5 Play pinging location from the cell tower it was connected to rather than using the GPS. After a refresh, it would usually show the correct location. Die ERREICHBARKEIT ist bisher ganz gut, wobei wir schon 2 x den Effekt hatten, dass direkt nach dem Telefonieren mit ihr, die Ortung plötzlich nicht mehr ging und sie dann auch kurzzeitig nicht erreichbar war. Ich weiß nicht, ob das mit den Telefonaten zu tun hatte, aber es schien fast so. Nach 2 Minuten ging dann alles wieder – sehr merkwürdig.Die Zusätze wie den Schrittzähler mit der Möglichkeit, Coins zu sammeln und gegen Prämien einzutauschen sowie Taschenrechner, Fotos und Musik, finden wir gut, sie ergänzen die Uhr mit sinnvollen Optionen, anstatt mit zusätzlichen unsinnigen Spielen. Unsere Tochter ruft uns gerne an und findet es ganz toll, sie möchte dadurch selbständiger werden und fühlt sich dadurch wie eine Große :-) und möchte nun auch gerne öfters allein oder mit Freundinnen von der Schule gehen, die Uhr gibt nicht nur uns, sondern auch ihr ein wenig mehr Sicherheit. Die SPRACHQUALITÄT fanden wir überraschend gut und sehr deutlich!
