My daughter razored the first knife she sharpened on one I bought for her. Choosing which version to get would depend entirely on your knife collection. If you own a wide variety of knife and blade styles, the the Elite system would be the wiser choice since it comes with a complete set of sharpening stones. I have not yet tried the small knife table. Mostly because all my small slipjoints are currently in pretty good shape and I usually just touch them up with a ceramic rod.
