Looking at the relationship of Lily and Mason, this sees them coming together despite their respective issues in the past. Lily has a hidden past that she likes to keep buried, as the scars haunt her, with her desperately trying to forget about what she’s lost. Then there’s Mason who’s similarly hiding behind an illusion, something which he shares with Lily, as the two find each other. Will they be able to overcome their pasts, can the make a new life together, and what will they discover beneath the surface? While I appreciated that Julian was a villain in every sense of the word, I wish the main characters (cough cough Yasmin) could do shitty things without them being justified because they were betrayed. The villain can still get the girl while the (original) hero is still good guy of the story! It would be an interesting concept that the series has yet to explore. Are you 18+? It felt very shoe-horned in to excuse the fact Yasmin cheated on him and made him second in her life while they were together. I was looking forward to this retelling the most, and while I did enjoy it, it did not live up the hype I built it up to in my head—and that’s on me. If you go in with reasonable expectations, there’s plenty of enjoyment to be had. The sex scenes are yummy yummy! After the tease and longing when they finally were with each other- gosh it was everything! I need a Daddy Julian in my life pretty pls!🤧
