About this deal

They have compared him with the likes of Mitch Rapp, Jason Bourne, and Pike Logan. The narrative seems to have a lot of detailing and passion, which is evident from the fact that Carr is a retired SEAL. His writing seems fluid and his character descriptions are quite engaging. The readers appreciated such an interesting story coming from a debut author and praised him for his good work. Carl was engrossed in the latest Brad Thor thriller and would glance up from time to time to observe the screens. Scott hit pause on his iPhone long enough to say hello. He was listening to a Joe Rogan podcast where the podcaster was somehow discussing psychedelic drugs and bow hunting with Cam Hanes in the same episode.” This is seriously good… the suspense is unrelenting, and the tradecraft is so authentic the government will probably ban it – so read it while you can!' Lee Child Your mother was, and still is, a librarian, so you grew up around books, and you became the real-life version of the heroes in those books. How did you make the transition to writing? Once the bullets start flying, you better hold on tight, because the action never lets up for a second…the plotting is tight with plenty of surprises along the way, the pacing is relentless.”

After avenging the deaths of his family and team members, Reece emerges deep in the wilds of Mozambique, protected by the family of his estranged best friend and former SEAL Team member. When a series of events uncovers his whereabouts, the CIA recruits him, using a Presidential pardon for Reece and immunity for the friends who helped him in his mission of vengeance. With technical ferocity and devastating action sequences, Carr writes both from the gut and a seemingly infinite reservoir of knowledge in the methods of human combat. Loved it!'

Because I started writing TRUE BELIEVER so long ago, it’s really this third novel where I’m on the “one book a year” deadline for the first time. I started it while I was finishing up the edits on TRUE BELIEVER and now I’m about to start outlining book four while beginning to edit book three. Process-wise it means I need to get much more disciplined in scheduling my day. I love every second. Kill one man, and you are a murderer. Kill millions of men, and you are a conqueror. Kill them all, and you are a god.”

The admiral was clearly more concerned with force diversity and the push to open the SEAL Teams to females than he was with crushing America’s enemies. Whatever got him his next star.” I saw the 2nd Top Gun movie and was a little disappointed even though all my friends thought it was better than the 1st one. I disagree. I just finished watching “The Terminal List” with Chris Pratt and I found this MUCH, MUCH better than Top Gun. Please, please keep bringing Reece to TV. Reply You must direct the fire and movement of the entire element and resist the instinct to become just another gun in the fight.” This is seriously good… the suspense is unrelenting, and the tradecraft is so authentic the government will probably ban it – so read it while you can!'

Now a reluctant tool of the United States government, Reece travels the globe, targeting terrorist leaders and unraveling a geopolitical conspiracy that exposes a traitorous CIA officer and uncovers a sinister assassination plot with worldwide repercussions. I started writing TRUE BELIEVER soon after I retired from the military in 2016, before I had even submitted The Terminal List to the publisher. I started writing it while I was still finishing up edits on the first novel prior to submission because I knew that I would always write at least two books. I went to Mozambique where I researched the first part of TRUE BELIEVER where James Reece learns to live. There are too many instances where authors’ first works don’t hit but they keep going. If John Grisham had stopped after writing A Time To Kill, we would never have had the pleasure of reading The Firm, The Pelican Brief, or The Client, and he’d still be practicing law. That’s one of the hardest parts of leaving the close-knit world of special operations; finding purpose. I was fortunate in that I knew exactly what I wanted to do next—I wanted to write. Taking care of my family gives me purpose and writing thrillers is a calling in the same way that serving in the military was a calling. I feel extremely fortunate.

This is seriously good. I mean – seriously. The tradecraft is so authentic the government will probably ban it – so read it while you can!”You’ve said that you can trace your life by the novels you were reading at the various stages of your life. What are you reading now? Just finished Devil’s Hand. Loved the way you gave a shout out to Brad Thor. I’m snowed in and need another one. Keep cranking. Reply
