About this deal

In the wrong hands this plot could become really quite absurd with great ease but as always he handles the absurdity with style, turning it in to what feels like an everyday occurrence for the characters. It's this 'slice of life' aspect to his underworld tales that really appeal to me. That and his excellent use of dialogue. The simplest explanation of the plot would be to call it a retelling of the Prince and the Pauper plot. Only instead of physically exchanging places with each other the characters manage to perform a bit of Freaky Friday magic on themselves and teleport their souls into each other's bodies. A simple enough plot that is complicated by the intelligence of one of the boys participating (unwittingly) in the exchange. What follows the Switch is a series of plots that thrust both boys into hitherto unknown territory, which they manage to navigate relatively unscathed, at east mentally. Horowitz, Anthony. RED (2012; with Cecelia Ahern, Rachel Cusk, Emma Donoghue, Max Hastings, Victoria Hislop, Hanif Kureishi, Andrew Motion and Will Self) Two things. Adam Savage raves about his writing and I trust his taste. We're both part of the ginger brotherhood. Also Diane read one of his others last month and gave it a good review. No spaceships, test tubes or history in sight. It was a bit of a gamble.

The Adventure of the Seven Christmas Cards (2020; published in three parts in the Daily Mail, December 21–23) Poisoned Pen (2002; never published in the UK but released as El asesinato de Shakespeare in Spanish and William S. in Dutch) I also loved Tad's character development as he sees the world in a whole new way. He is truly changed from the inside out, and I was delighted with the complexity of his personality.a b c d e f g h i j k Cannot be used with sap curses, Turmoil, Anguish, Torment, Sorrow, Fortitude, Malevolence, Desolation, Affliction or Ruination. Characters: It’s refreshing to have characters that include a spunky mature lady! In fact, the grandmother has a wonderful positive attitude, is definitely a “people person,” and sees most of the romantic action in the story. I think, though, that she is portrayed as being too young for her age at points. Online dating and looking for romance at 79 might work better if she were 69. Climbing a tree at 79? Not very realistic. The grandmother has a more entertaining storyline and the Type A granddaughter who is forced into a two-month sabbatical from her job has a more realistic storyline in which she contemplates some thoughtful changes in her life. I appreciate that both characters are fearless and determined in their own ways.

A grieving British woman and her grandmother switch homes and lives in an attempt to shake things up. Some of the characters in the book are described in detail but seem thrown together to have some kind of action in the book. Some kind of body count.Familiarize yourself with the Kindle's hardware features. I understand how Elmore Leonard has mastered his own fictional crime prose but sometimes I think well known authors get lazy in finishing a project strongly. Cullen, Helen (5 July 2020). "Author Anthony Horowitz and his wife, Jill Green, on their rollercoaster courtship". The Sunday Times . Retrieved 23 October 2023.

A solid early Leonard Detroit crime novel with all the usual Leonard suspects. Filled with great dialogue, fantastic characters, it sets the reader up well for each of Leonard's funky plot twists. More than anything, this novel is a modern-day "awakening" of the female protagonist/victim. She moves from being a passive victim/wife to being an agent in her own new destiny; from being a scene in her own life to being the principal actor. That arc alone makes this novel worth it. Horowitz wrote many stand-alone novels in the 1990s. His 1994 novel Granny, a comedy thriller about an evil grandmother, was Horowitz's first book in three years, and it was the first of three books for an audience similar to that of Groosham Grange. The second of these was The Switch, a body swap story, first published in 1996. The third was 1997's The Devil and His Boy, which is set in the Elizabethan era and explores the rumour of Elizabeth I's secret son.

Media365 is a free reading app for Android that lets you read any of the books in its library in exchange for the occasional fullscreen advertisement. Authors can self-publish on the Media 365 platform, which is why there are so many niche and indie titles available, but there are also a large number of mainstream books available like the entire Harry Potter book series.
