About this deal

Love the audiobook and the actual physical book is, in my own opinion, FANTASTIC! Tom is an amazing author and Shane Devries' illustrations are amazing. I did think it was a bit odd to go for branie instead of danger in the Dutch edition. I mean branie is a good choice in the end, but it seems weird to go from danger to daring/brave. Increasing exposure to new vocabulary is important. Learning new words, defining them and using them in a new context give a solid base.

These extracts have been taken from chapter 9 of ‘The Danger Gang’. Your Year 3 / Year 4 class will have to identify and insert inverted commas where there is speech. The new children’s book from No. 1 bestselling author David Walliams – a fantastically funny tale illustrated by artistic genius, Tony Ross. In this story, something strange is happening with Franky's friends after a freaky storm. Franky is surprised to see that it had recently happened after they have arrived. He, his old friend Danny, and his friends in freaky finds out what had caused the storm. It is a story that can be read by 7+ children.

The art was fabulous though I did think it was a bit odd how much they differ. You had SUPER detailed and gorgeous art, and more simple but also fun art. Between the two sometimes the characters just looked vastly different which was confusing. I still loved the art, don’t get me wrong, but I think it would be better if it had all been in one style. The story is a set of letters he sends to his best friend on how he’s getting on and updating her on all the crazy things they get up to. The new children’s book from No. 1 bestselling author David Walliams – a timeless adventure illustrated by artistic genius, Tony Ross. It was amazing to see each of the kids getting their superpowers as he was writing to his friend Dani. It was also amazing to see his Dad as a secret agent. All seems normal until, following a terrific storm one night, with flashes of eerie green lightning and a definite whiff of poo, Franky notices a change in the people around him. First, Eric turns into a shark whenever water touches him, then Mollie becomes invisible, and Franky keeps glimpsing shadowy figures lurking at the edge of his vision. Convinced these bizarre occurrences are connected to the storm, he and his new friends form The Danger Gang and make it their mission to investigate the peculiar events.Tom also writes the incredibly successful Who's in Your Book? picture-book series and is one half of the author duo behind the Dinosaur that Pooped picture-book series too, which has sold over 1.5 million copies. Meet Frenkie, he just moved to the little town of Bizar (though I guess if one moves from Grijsdorp it is an improvement) and misses his dear friend Dani a lot. We see how he tries to make the best of things and writes letters to his friend Dani. And then a big green poopy stinky storm happens and things get very weird and very bizarre. The story gets more and more magical and silly with each new month and I just LOVE LOVE LOVED it. It may have come over a bit episodic, but I think it wouldn’t have worked in another way given this book takes place over a year. It would just be too big or you would lose tons of story. In this resource your LKs2 class will have to read the sentences and fill in the missing words using the word bank. In this resource, your class will practise identifying and creating contractions. They will have to read the sentences, spot the words they can shorten and fill in the appropriate contraction.

I thought it was an interesting book and it tells you how a group of friends save an invention from being stolen. It was a fiction book and my favourite character was a boy called Frank Brown who life felt to me like a rollercoaster. His new town is called Freaky and upright it was freaky, their are flashes of green light. And one by one his new friends at freaky change! I really liked the strange things in it. My favourite bit was when they shrunk down to be the size of the model because it was cool.
