I have to say that I’ve become totally addicted to Lynda La Plante’s novels. As a retired police officer myself, I can say that she explores and provides in-depth knowledge of police and forensic procedure to a really high level, and that alone is very impressive considering she was never actually a serving police office herself. Her research is obviously incredibly thorough. I always wait with bated breath, her new novels. Well done, Lynda! You’re certainly one of the finest!!! She has won numerous awards for her writing, including the Edgar Award for Best TV Feature/Mini-Series Teleplay for Prime Suspect 2 in 1993 and the Crime Writers’ Association Diamond Dagger in 2008 for lifetime achievement in crime writing. Her first book went over extremely well, and other famous novels came to follow. One of her best known stories is The Talisman, published in 1987, closely followed by Bella Mafia in 1990. Soon afterward, she began work on Prime Suspect, which starred Helen Mirren. This opened the door for La Plante to win an Edgar-Award from the Mystery-Writers of America for her impressive work on the show.He says that in each and every town that he has ever lived, he found more dogs and flies than people. You see, Bobby's father died by suicide after being accused of abusing the young child, with Joe among the names who had signed off on the probable cause of Bobby's mental health issues.
