About this deal

The Shark Handvac CH950UKT is an excellent handheld vacuum cleaner. It doesn’t come with many advanced features and it’s not the most convenient handheld, but when it comes to cleaning performance we think it’s amongst the best around.

Just be careful to search for the Pet Pro Plus model to ensure that you’re getting all the tools we talk about here if that’s important. There are a couple of cheaper models (CH900/CH901 – both without the “Plus” in the name) that are available from some retailers but come with fewer tools and in different colors. There’s no doubt that the Shark CH950UKT is amongst the best handhelds on the market, but it’s not perfect. One of our biggest complaints is that it’s not as easy to maintain as other handheld options. This model also comes with other handy tools to help keep your home spotless. Pop on the dusting brush to go over furniture or use the crevice tool for those corners and hard to reach areas. The dust cup has a capacity of 0.45 litres and is easy and hygienic to empty using the one-touch system. Plus, the filter is washable too, helping you keep the vacuum in perfect working condition.

Note: In the CH950UKT manual, Shark specifically mentions that you shouldn’t use a hair dryer (or any other drying tool) to speed up the process. The filters should only be air-dried. Step 5: Re-Assemble The CH950UKT Shark sells replacement filters for the CH950UKT. The filters should last a long time, but if they become torn or otherwise damaged then it’s important to replace them. We recommend cleaning your Shark’s filters at least once per month. You may need to wash them more regularly if you use the vacuum a lot. In terms of noise, the CH950UKT / Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro Plus measured at 88dB, which is about average for this kind of vacuum, and suction power stayed pretty consistent until right at the end, when you could hear it start to waver as the battery depleted. You don't have permission to access "http://sharkclean.co.uk/product/shark-classic-handheld-pet-vacuum-ch950ukt-zidCH950UKT" on this server. If you’re looking for a handheld vacuum to clean stairs, then the CH950UKT is one of the very best. Pet Hair

You can also wash the CH950UKT’s dust cup. Use the process above to remove the dust cup from the vacuum’s body, empty it into a bin, then with the lid open rinse the cup in cold water (don’t use any cleaning products or a dishwasher). Leave the lid open and place the cup on its side to allow it to dry for at least 24 hours. Measuring 20.5 x 3.7 x 4.3 inches / 52 x 9.5 x 11cm, the CH950UKT / Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro Plus is on the larger side of compact, and is probably better suited to being stored in a cupboard rather than on a countertop. It’s still an ergonomic design though, and feels good to hold, with the handle built into its main body. Remove the canister from the main body using the yellow button. Gently remove the filter frame from the dust cup.The Shark Cordless Handvac sits at the lower end of the price range for handheld vacuums. We’re impressed with how much you get for your money when you factor in the suction power and motorised pet tool. For these reasons, we don’t recommend buying the CH950UKT specifically as a car vacuum. It can still be useful for cleaning most of your car interior though. Stairs With all that suction you're going to be needing to empty the dust cup regularly. This is easy, just make sure you hold the vacuum over the bin when you press the empty button otherwise the debris will go everywhere. You’ll get up to ten minutes of run time, which is perfect for on on-the-spot cleaning. And, the no-fade Lithium-ion battery ensures lasting power and performance. There’s also a handy battery light indicator which lets you know when the power is low. Shark Accessories

You can now remove the filter frame from the dust cup. Be gentle when doing this to avoid damaging the frame. Step 2: Remove Both Filters From The Filter HousingOne thing to note is that this is a large handheld vacuum. It’s probably the longest we’ve reviewed so far, and it doesn’t fold or collapse to save space when storing it. We have this rug at the bottom of our stairs to help protect the wooden flooring from heavy footed residents stepping down from the last step on the stairs. This tends to end up being covered in dust, grit, hay and hair after a week so was the perfect little patch to test this vac out on. For this I used the mini motorised attachment which just slid on to the nozzle like the brush tool. This did a marvellous job of lifting dirt and filling up the 0.45 litre dust canister. It would be great for those who don't have one of the best vacuums for pet hair. The Shark CH950UKT / Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro Plus promises a 10-minute battery life, but we found the battery performed better than that, and we squeezed out almost 15 minutes from it on a single charge. You can expect that to drop a little with the motorized tool attached, but we had plenty of time to make our way around our car on a single charge, with even a little power to spare at the end.
