About this deal

Alex gives Katie a letter with the words "To Her" on the envelope. It explains that he must be in love to have given her the letter and she hopes that she feels the same, wishing that she could be there with them. Enclosed with the letter is a photo of Alex's late wife. Katie realizes that her neighbor "Jo" was the ghost of Carly watching over them. The ending closes the past chapters of the couple’s lives. Katie is finally free from her abusive husband. By giving Katie the letter written by Carly, Alex also puts his past behind him. Katie and Alex are finally ready to start a life together. The two lovers can now look to the future, which looks hopeful for them now that they are with each other. We get a scene of Alex, Katie, Josh, and Lexie, now a complete family, on a boat headed for a picnic. Carly’s expository letter beautifully explains Katie’s role in completing the family. The story begins for Katie and Alex, with each facing circumstances that make living difficult for them, and ends by highlighting the thing that makes life worth living: love. What Happens to Jo? En general, no fue nada revolucionario, pero fue agradable y, como dicen las novelas de Sparks, tuvo un final agradable en lugar de uno que destruya el alma. The story here is somewhat reminiscent of ( A Bend in the Road)but way better, it also reminded me very much of that older Julia Roberts movie ( Sleeping With the Enemy) but again its better then that too. I won’t give away too much here with the synopsis, its well worth discovering on your own. Cheers.

I bought this book on a whim. All the ladies at my workplace seem to be reading it and I keep overhearing them rave about it. It's Nicholas Sparks best book yet! When I got up to the register the lady ringing me up said, "Ooh, Nicholas Sparks! I love his books. They're soo good. Oh, and look! It's going to be a movie. Gotta see that one." Mind you I had two other books in the pile, not a word about those. Mr. Artinian’s debut novel, Safe Haven: Rise of the RAMS, was his first offering in the series of post-apocalyptic zombies. In October 2017 he won the Zombie Book of the Month Award, a highly prestigious award. In December of that year he was given the “Best New Author” award by the Reanimated Writers group for that first book. That is so because in addition to a head for numbers, the author is a storyteller. He explains his investment philosophy through the brilliant mathematical minds of the Bernoullis, through Nietzche, Albert Einstein, the SS Eastland is used to showcase the frequently cruel results of good intentions, his Burmese Water Dog is featured as a way of vivifying the simplistic nature of correlations, etc. etc. Though Safe Haven is full of charts and numbers, it reads as though it’s written by a poet. The author has a very interesting mind. When a mysterious young woman (Julianne Hough) arrives in a small North Carolina town, her reluctance to join the tight-knit community raises questions about her part. Slowly, she begins putting down roots, and gains the courage to start a relationship with Alex (Josh Duhanel), a widowed store owner with two young children. But dark secrets intrude on her new life with such terror that she is forced to rediscover the meaning of sacrifice and rely on the power of love in this deeply moving romantic thriller. The ending ruined it for me. The ending is dumb, contrived, unnecessary, insulting even. It made me feel stupid for spending the time to read this book. All the way until the end I was debating whether to give this book three stars or four because for all its faults (up until that point) it did keep me reading.

Sparks is a mediocre writer at best. His plots might have a seed of promise, but the writing reads like someone who is taking their first creative writing class. Or maybe he's channeling an average writer from the past. His style is flowery yet stilted. All the characters talk the same. The movies made from his novels are much better than the books, so that pretty much says it all. For the sake of their younger sister and brother, they have to travel. Their journey is going to be filled with danger and too many unknowns. If they don’t travel far north, they will certainly die. They need to travel to find a safe haven. My second time reading Safe Haven, the first half was a bit slow. We don't know about Katie's past yet, and we simply follow the beginnings of her settling into the small town of Southport and starting a relationship with Alex - the local general store owner. Julianne Hough as Erin Tierney / Katie Feldman, a young woman who flees her abusive husband and Alex's new girlfriend.

The answer is to comment on an excellent piece of work despite Spitznagel’s disdain for commentators, all the while laying out likes, questions, and presumed dislikes. Up front, Spitznagel’s book is very easy to like. A lot. I read this book in one day because I did want to know where the author was going with this. Thus, I admit to taking the bait.

( November 2022) ( Learn how and when to remove this template message) Katie is on the run, but the good people of Southport don’t know that, they’re too busy wondering what the pretty new waitresses’ story is and why she keeps to herself so much, after all everyone here knows everybody else. For the first time in months Katie is allowing herself to breathe again, she’s found a good paying job, a secluded place to live, and avoiding any personal ties should allow her enough time here to save some real money before she has to move on again.

Lucy, Alex, Mike, and Jules are each embroiled in the act of trying to survive the zombies. They have friends they are trying to save as well. The odds are terrible. The horrific virus is relentless and seemingly impossible to escape from. The effort of trying to survive is so exhausting. Sometimes it easier to think about just letting it take you. Opening line: “As Katie wound her way among the tables, a breeze from the Atlantic rippled through her hair." Katie is interested in Alex, who is a widower with two children. Alex and Katie's relationship becomes romantic, encouraged by Jo. Alex's former job had trained him to recognize signs of an abuse victim. Katie reveals her past to Alex, who wants to know why she did not go seek help from the police. She explains that Kevin is a police detective. She fled from his abuse because she knew he would kill her if he located her. Her created identity is based on a neighbor's dead daughter who resembled her. In Mr. Artinian’s Safe Haven: Realm of the Raiders, the zombie virus has conquered the United Kingdom and Ireland. Cities are consumed by the undead and if you are still alive you will die there. Safe Haven follows the life of Katie, as she tries to hide from her husband, Kevin. Basically she has been physically abused by her husband for years and she finally decides to run. She arrives at Southport emotionally and physically scarred, and begins to form a new life. There she starts a relationship with Alex, who is a widowed father of two children, and she slowly begins to let her guard down. Not to mention her friendship with Jo!Safe Haven is a fantasy romantic novel by American novelist Nicholas Sparks. It was published in 2010. According to WorldCat, the book is held in 2242 libraries. [1] Plot [ edit ] Nicholas Sparks movie 'Safe Haven' starts shooting in Wilmington". WWayTV3.com. Retrieved October 25, 2012. Mike and Emma Fletcher are trying to survive. Siblings living in Leeds, their city is overrun by the dead. Zombies are roaming the streets and Mike and Emma have to flee and keep their family safe. They and their younger siblings set off for far north-west Scotland, hoping to find their last remaining relative. Kevin, I've never been so scared of a character. I mentally flinch at the way he thought. And how much he believed what he was telling himself. I know that there are most defiantly people like that in the world. So wound up in their lies that they just become one. Not only lying to others but to themselves. Becoming the lies they tell. It breaks my heart, to think of all the people like that and how much they are suffering. Though most don't even know they are having never felt the joy/love to miss it. It's undoubtly Nicholas Sparks'. I'd know even if I hadn't heard about the book and found it with covers ripped off and title and author's name missing.
