About this deal

Percentage luminance drop at 20 degree vertical angle from the centre of the screen with 50% white output There is a basic version of Samsung’s Motion Xcelerator feature, which claims to predict and automatically compensate for frame rate fluctuations, but it’s hard to say from our time with the set that this really has much effect on the gaming experience. The service requires the user to be logged in to the same Samsung account on TV as well as mobile device.

The story was similar to the challenging Spears and Munsil 4K HDR Benchmark montage on Blu-ray, where the Samsung looked a bit brighter than the Sony. Both outperformed the Omni, which showed less high-level detail in snowscapes, but the difference wasn't massive. The greyness can filter into colours in low-lit content too, making them look flatter than they do during bright scenes, as well as sometimes causing subtle shadow details to be squeezed out of the picture. The Q60B’s picture hardware is driven by a Quantum Processor 4K lite system that seems to be more or less on a par with the Crystal processor found in Samsung’s non Quantum Dot TVs. Certainly, it doesn’t appear to have any of the machine learning/AI elements you get higher up Samsung’s TV range, with Samsung’s blurb on it only really talking about improved upscaling of sub-4K content and the ability to automatically adjust the sound profile to suit different content types. Samsung’s powerful processor optimizes sound quality the content you watch. The 4K Upscaling technology also ensures you get up to 4K resolution for the content you love. * Viewing experience may vary by type of content and format. This input lag figure is about as low as it gets in the TV world, potentially giving you a critical advantage over people gaming on less rapid TVs. Note that you can, if you wish, sacrifice a little input lag, pushing it up to around 26ms, to get slightly better overall picture quality, by choosing the Faster or Fast rather than Fastest response time options. This is worth considering for games that aren’t as reliant on super-fast response times. Make everything you watch truly spectacular. Samsung QLED TVs are certified to provide 100% colour volume*. Quantum Dot display technology, unlike others, is able to transform light into breath-taking colour that will look incredible for years to come. Guaranteed on your screen for an entire decade***. With over a billion cinematic colours calibrated with the Samsung SmartThings app**, everything you watch is brought to life like never before. *100% colour volume measured to DCI-P3 standard, certified by VDE.

Percentage luminance drop at 35 degree horizontal angle from the centre of the screen with 100% white output On the article there was a mistake written where they are talking about input lag on TV's and they say in this article that 9ms is the fastest you can get in the TV world when that is actually false and can be verified with 1mins of research and by the fact I have an LG C1 Oled which has hit 1.5ms on call of duty with all the features turned on and many other tvs can do this now so wanted to point out that what they said about 9ms being the fastest is not true.

Gamers will be enthused, though, both by the number of game streaming services available on Samsung’s dedicated Gaming Hub screen and by the TV’s seriously speedy 9.4ms of input lag when using the TV’s ‘Fastest’ response time setting. The Samsung's screen was great dealing with reflections. Sitting under bright lights, it dulled my reflection very well, slightly better than the TCL and significantly better than the Omni and the Sony. Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying small white square taking up 10% of the screen (measured in Nits)

Plan Benefits

Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying a live scene and white square taking up 10% of the screen (measured in Nits) Despite making a pleasing first impression with its design and some of the more aggressive aspects of its picture quality, in the end, Samsung’s attempt to make Quantum Dot technology more affordable doesn’t result in the budget hero we’d hoped for. As with most TVs, the brightest mode (Dynamic in the Samsung's case) is horribly inaccurate. For the accurate results listed above I used Movie mode and I recommend X80K owners do the same to get good color in bright rooms. Note that with SDR, you may need to disable the ambient light sensor (Settings > Menu > Power and Energy Saving > Brightness Optimization > Off) to get full brightness.
