About this deal

Just bought the art book after holding it off for an insanely long time. I was able to find a good deal on the japanese version, which is great since the english version seems to be super expensive now, but I'm really interested in the comments that describe the creation process.

Persona 5 Official Design Works ARTBOOK By KBG : Free

Udon will release the Persona 5 Official Design Works (released in 2016 in Japan) in English next year as announced at Comic-Con @home 2021 (via Persona Central). This release will also include artwork from Persona 5 Royal added to the end and the complete release will be titled Persona 5 + P5R Official Design Works. I bought the original 2016-released Japanese artbook for Persona 5 and skipped the Prima Games released English version because it was missing content and because I wasn’t sure about the print quality given the publisher’s recent releases I bought at the time. It is good to see Udon do it now with how good the publisher’s artbooks are.

Shin Megami Tensei Network recently released a podcast episode with Udon Entertainment Director of Publishing Matt Moylan, in which he further describes the plans for the upcoming, first physical English release of the Persona 5 art book. I already own the Royal one that came with the Royal collectors edition, and I'm assuming the OG Persona 5 has a artbook too, same with Persona 5 Strikers except that one is exclusive to Japan. Udon is hoping to release Persona 5 + P5R Official Design Works in Spring 2022. Either way, it should be out next year and I’m definitely going to get it. Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal are phenomenal games. Read our review of Persona 5 Royal here. Hopefully Udon also announces a Persona 5 Strikers artbook soon. I really wish we had more notes about concept sketches- I can sort of guess who/what some of them are, but the business lady in a dress with butterfly hair clips- was she supposed to be an alternative Sae?

Persona 5 Original Art Book Released in English as an E-Book Persona 5 Original Art Book Released in English as an E-Book

Not 100% sure on this translation, being allergic to egg myself I’m not really sure of how it tastes the the stereotypes associated with liking it. Possibly a direct quote from her? And the “certain kind of instant yakisoba” is probably something that shows up in the game itself, I’ll probably understand this better once I play the game. Character Gallery: Includes compelling artwork of the main characters and their personas, plus personal data never before released in English!I think the nuance of this is like “it comes naturally to her”. Could either be that or “she’s not self-conscious”. Shigenori Soejima is a Japanese illustrator, graphic designer and currently an employee of Atlus' Japanese branch. He is best known for his work on both Persona 3 and Persona 4 and is responsible for the art direction of the Persona Team's games. His style is nowadays defined by the vibrant colors in his artwork that create a certain sense of lighting as well as his characters that resemble typical manga-styled figures. Eating 30 different kinds of food a day was a government-sanctioned nutritional plan in Japan in 1985. On the interview of Soejima Shigenori, who is the character designer, there are untold fact about “Persona 5”’s characters.

Favourite Food and Drink: For some reason they are particularly choosy about food, so they like high-quality sushi and meat. Complained about tinned cat-food and biscuits at first, but now really likes them. Soejima follows a personal rule while designing mascots - for color palettes, he uses a "toy color" set of red, yellow and blue. This rule applies to Aigis, Teddie and Morgana. [1]I’m mostly doing this to practice my translation skills, so I’ll be doing these on my own time when I feel like it. Be aware that they take a while, so bear with me. There are probably translations of the artbook info already out there, but I’ll stay away from them: I want to see how much I can translate on my own.

More screenshots have been released for the upcoming Royal remake thanks to Famitsu, a recent interview revealed that there will be a save bonus for those who played the original Persona 5, and we even have more gameplay gleaned from a new trailer. It’s interesting to see the stages some of the characters went through and even some characters/designs/concepts that didn’t make the cut. Beautiful and inspiring artwork with informative creator commentary on the thought process behind the designs. For reference, Usain Bolt’s best time is 9.58 seconds, so Ryuji is pretty good for a high school student. Actual verb used here is “cut”, as in cutting the air with his finger. I can pretty clearly imagine what this actually refers to though, so I hope I got the feeling across.I'm wondering if anyone can speak about the differences in these. You have the Persona 5 Official Art Book you can import from Japan. The hardcore artbook that came with CE in United states and a new The Art of Persona 5 which comes out in june.
