Its characters are violent, compassionate, sadistic, fragile, and heroic. It’s beautifully written and truly gripping. The doctor is prepared to keep it cool and professional. That is until her bloodwork reveals that she’s pregnant.
So the author really needs to research a little more before throwing in religion as a plot device, and know a little about kids and where they would be maturity wise at certain ages to keep it from being cringe. Three things Dr. Josh Richardson knows: he doesn’t talk about his past, he doesn’t do relationships, and the crazy girl in the hospital cafeteria who ate a fistful of French silk pie…is annoyingly irresistible.
Most 8 year old girls start acting like pre-pre-teens thanks to socialization at school, paydates with friends and just general growing up. Even if shy, the hiding behind people stage and saying "I'm not widdle, I'm a big girl" is pretty much over. Three months later, the weird cafeteria stalker who crept out of Josh's house like a thief in the night, winds up as his patient in the ER after her Tinder date from hell. One Moment Please released at just the right time when I needed to escape into a book that made me laugh while also making me feel and gave me the sweetest happily ever after. And it just felt like sex was used as a crutch in the book. This is a romance and there was no real romance. I mean, lots of steam if that's what you're into... but I want to fall in love with the characters as they fall in love with each other. I just didn't feel love. The love seemed forced at the last second to wrap up thy HEA. Without spoiling it, though I think it’s been a teaser for the book, the reason behind this oops pregnancy is hilarious.
