About this deal

The most anticlimactic kiss ever. He just puts his lips on the heroine out of the blue. No chemistry. No anticipation. No passion. The dialogue continues as if the kiss didn't happen. It turns into a game of cat and mouse or more like python and a mouse (if you read the book, you'll get this). All in all, without more spoilers, it is one of the great books to read about obsessions and delusions. None of the parties is 100% innocent but one is slightly better than other and you hope that it wins. Madigan explores lives that have been dismantled by the relentless pursuit of the obsessed, causing fear, torment, anxiety and helplessness, often exacerbated by being dismissed or disbelieved by the police, the justice system, society and even friends and family. She investigates what drives perpetrators to torment others. The book contains traumatic themes including rape, suicide and mental illness and a warning that this may be distressing. Yes, sir. My daddy hurt Ashley. He tied her up down in that old cellar in the woods by this burned-out cabin place. He hurt her really bad, and he hurt other people, too. There were pictures of them down there. I don't know why he did those things. I don't know why anybody would do what he did."

My only wish is that the author put more of her own story into it. More detail I suppose. Even more detail of what happened with Kassie and the ex. I’m not an obsessive person, but tell me a book is about obsession and I’m going to read it. Obsession is a natural motivator, requiring ever greater sacrifices, presenting increasing dangers to anyone standing in the way. A long and boring story about a house renovation ( look, for that there's "House Rules"... of which I'm fan), with a lukewarm romance _ the number of stereotypes in which the guy falls into is ridiculous _ and almost no suspense (with the exception of the beginning of the story), in a supposed thriller. I love the relationship with Naomi's uncle. He and even Harry were so good to the family. But the mom just had so many issues. I won't say how that all worked out. I can't help thinking that this book would've been amazing as a movie. Logan acted out would've been magnificent, especially if the actor playing him is good at portraying unstable characters.OW/OM drama: Yes, but mild the H had an ex hook-up from high school that had her eye on him and causes a public confrontation with the h I really enjoyed this book! I would compare this to You (YA version) it kept me interested the whole time. This book made me uncomfortable in the best way. You know that feeling when you’re so horrified by a thriller but you just can’t put it down? Yeah I got that a lot with this book. Something was off. Something that felt big, lurking underneath us the way a giant sea creature did, writhing right below the calm surface before bursting out of the water with its jaws open. This is a brilliant, chilling, yet ultimately hopeful book. Part memoir, part investigative journalism, Obsession is an in-depth exploration of stalking.

I don’t want to say too much, because I think this should be read mostly blind. Read the blurb, and then dive in. The ride is much more enjoyable that way. I’ll say if you like morally gray characters, and plots that slowly unveil surprising things, then you will love this read. It’s entertaining, unexpected, and I think there are many more great reads to come from this author. The Obsession is one of those books where I thought I knew how things were going to go, and then Jesse Q. Sutanto laughed at me, because things didn’t go anything like I was expecting. If someone asked me to explain The Obsession in one sentence, it would be, on the surface level it will make you question your morals, but the heart of the story is a blossoming strong young woman. This story will definitely have you questioning what is right and what is wrong, and by the end you won’t know whether you should be cheering or if you should call the fictional authorities. I mean Delilah is a character that has goals and dreams and is fighting to accomplish them, but life and men keeping hindering those plans. I could really sympathize for her not from experience, but simply from the authors words and how she made me feel for her character. Naomi found him at the side of the road, half starved and in need of some loving. He latched onto Naomi like velcro. Even so she had no intention of keeping him, she even refused to name him, but since he tagged along wherever she went – Tag stayed.:D The Sexism. Everytime I forgot about it there was a reminder. Did you notice, how Naomi is special, because she's not like every other woman, except she's like every other women in romance books? She doesn't wear a giant purse with her everywhere she goes (like every woman, who's not Naomi), she oh's and ah's when she sees his amazing car (like no other woman, except Loo, would have) and even when she says "10 minutes" she means "10 minutes"! Oh and if a woman is upset, she runs to her girlfriend!

How to Vote

Delilah knows she should feel guilty, but all she feels is free. She’s so over the men in her life controlling her. Except Logan saw what she did, and he won’t let her forget it. What to say? A slow building is all on Naomi’s part, while Xander knows what he wants since the first moment. But.. but he’s dead wrong! It’s not lust, but it takes him a while to get it, giving time to Naomi to understand her feelings. the unfortunate reason for only four stars is because I saw so much potential in an epilogue that could’ve made this book a duology maybe. I did like the ending and even though I saw it coming I was worried it could’ve been a huge turn around. It had that five star potential but the missed opportunity is what had to take it down a star ): Additionally, Logan was one cheesy ass psycho. He called her his "Vitamin Dee" at one point and really my man? I do hope they are able to move on in life and put this completely behind them. But will that ever really happen. It will always be on (authors) mind.
