About this deal

To make it easier to enjoy your freshly brewed coffee from any location, the Staresso Basic comes with two espresso glasses. Drinking from the glass cups is far superior to drinking from a paper cup in our opinion (plus less wastage). As they are glass, I would be slightly worried about them breaking over time but they seem pretty sturdy. 4. Available in a Range of Colors Over a month of use, we found this best for nomadic working and weekends away - in other words, all those times when you’re not sure if there’s going to be great espresso within easy reach. I’ve been using the Nanopresso for over 5 months now, I’d say I’ve made close to 500 espressos in that time and never experienced any issue with loss of pressure. That was until last week (over the Christmas period) I was making family members drinks and during that time I noticed that the initial pumps required to begin the extraction were increasing. It is only compatible with ground coffee and while, with a little bit of practice, your cup tastes excellent, technically, it’s not an espresso since it doesn’t use high enough pressure.

Portable Espresso Machine? Wacaco Picopresso Review - Ultimate Portable Espresso Machine?

In contrast, using freshly ground coffee when making espresso produces better quality but can be a hassle when it comes to the cleanup while also being more challenging to transport than the pods. Water Source This device will make shots with a nice and bubbly crema. However, this espresso maker uses a pressurized basket, so even though the crema is nice looking, the extraction is not quite as high as some of its rivals. The pump on the Wacaco portable coffee machine is incredibly smooth, quiet, and easy to use. Plus, the build quality means it will never fail for you. The NS Adaptor allows the Nanopresso to use NS CAPSULES* to prepare espresso. The advantage of using capsules is that the coffee is mechanically ground, measured, and tamped with higher precision than we are capable of doing by hand. There is very little left for error, so your espresso is consistent every time. Pods are convenient, mess free, and easier to clean after use.

Payment methods

In all honesty, we are not convinced by the claim that the Staresso Basic can build 15-20 bar of pressure. Based on the espressos we have tried, our guess would be that the limit isn’t much over 15 bar. The Mirage’s 53mm pressurized double filter basket offers plenty of room for error in grind size, making it a solid beginner-friendly option. Portable is stretch here—the 9Barista is very well made, but it does weigh more than three pounds. For a small apartment with limited kitchen counter space, or for those RV trips you've been plotting, it's perfect. It may take a couple of tries to get the grind right on your beans. But once you do, you will be very impressed with the results. Some pre-grounds espresso blends are a little bit too fine for the Nanopresso. I got a bag of Costa grinds and they were a little on the fine side. It’s been a while since I bought pre-ground but if I remember correctly the Lavazza espresso is ground just right. If you really want to persist with the Illy ground coffee you could either try adding 15g instead of 16g that might help. You’ll notice that the portafilter does actually tamp the coffee deeper once it’s screwed on tightly (it sort of self tamps) So by having a gram less, it may just improve the flow. You could also remove the small silicone piece from the spring in the portafilter (non-pressurized mode) this will also help.

The 7 Best Portable Espresso Makers | 2023 GUIDE The 7 Best Portable Espresso Makers | 2023 GUIDE

Coffee bundles Decaf coffee beans Fairtrade coffee beans Ltd release coffees Organic coffee beans Wholesale coffee beans Unroasted coffee beans From what I’ve read, a single espresso is made with 7g of coffee in 20 to 30’seconds making 30g of espresso. I can do this quite easily with 30 pumps. However when doing the double shot, using the same grind size, to get the 60g out of espresso it takes allot more time and pumps. Does this mean that is have to make my grind much more course to get it out in the 20 to30 second time? Do all your shots extract in that same time range? The Cafflano Kompresso uses a naked basket and that means that it’s best for advanced users, who already have a good espresso grinder and some knowledge about the brewing process. However, if you know what you’re doing, you can get great shots! NS CAPSULES refers to Nespresso®** Original capsules and compatibles. Note that some non Original capsules might not work well with our machines. Its ergonomic design offers a comfortable brewing experience with easy-to-apply pressure, curved arms, and a conveniently positioned pressure gauge.

Espresso Machine History

The nanopresso seems to be the best portable product for expresso. Thinking of getting a gift for a friend. For someone who prefers latte/mocha/cappuccino type of drinks more than expresso, would you suggest the staresso instead, for versatility? Looking for something that something versatile and compatible with coffee capsules. A portable espresso machine you can use on a mountainside or at your office is great, but only if you’re also getting delicious espresso.
