About this deal

Among the new features was the E181 7.4-litre engine, which was a development of a pre-war 6.2-litre unit used in some TS8 Tigers and the sole LS1 prototype. The revised bore dimensions came from the version used in later models of the Matilda tank. It was a six-cylinder pushrod OHV unit, which developed 100bhp at 1.800 rpm and 328 lb ft of torque at 1,150 rpm. These were slightly better figures than the larger pre-war design 8.6-litre OHC engine, but fuel economy was also superior, although it was a much harsher-sounding engine. The TD7's flexible engine mounting was not 100% successful and so the PD1 reverted to a rigid engine mounting. The gearbox was a four-speed and reverse constant-mesh unit, with helical gear trains for second and third gear. Brakes, as standard, were triple-servo vacuum. A new, larger, radiator was fitted and its filler-cap was offset to the nearside to allow the driver's cab to be wider, the nearside windscreen pillar running down the vehicle centre-line. [18] At the time, Mr Lowbridge was just three years into what would be a 30-year-career with the police force, with a four-year-old daughter of his own. Trevor Lowbridge That BBC article about trans people is disgusting, I won't share it as I don't want to promote it. But whoever commissioned it should be ashamed. Fenton, Mike (18 January 2023). "The bar at Beverley". Buses. No.815. Stamford: Key Publishing . Retrieved 10 April 2023.

Set in 1987 and 2018 the plot weaves together the story of two lost teenage girls from different timelines. Tess Dawes 17, disappeared from Lowbridge in 1987 and some thirty years later she is still missing! Of these most found general favour, but the only customer for the PD2/11 was Leeds which took 20 in 1955. Another model almost exclusive to Leeds was the PD2/14 which was similar but had an AEC fluid flywheel and pre-selective gearbox of the type fitted to the RTL and RTW; Leeds took ten of the eleven built, the other going to Walsall. RLH 48 started service at Amersham garage on route 336 and over its 13 year life with London Transport moved to 5 more garages. This takes much too long to get going. I’m a big fan of Australian crime fiction, but this one didn’t understand the assignment. 10% in and absolutely nothing had happened - sure, doesn’t have to be thriller pace, but this was too low brow for literary fiction, so we do need to see some action or literally any sort of intrigue. From 1937, a 24-volt electrical system and the oil-engine, both previously optional, became standard, the frame had greater depth over the front wheel arches and a new 7.4-litre push-rod overhead-valve (OHV) petrol engine, known within Leyland as the Mark III, was built for Bournemouth and Eastbourne. [14] TD6 [ edit ] They could be told apart because the 13ft 8in ones had a narrow white band between the windscreens and destination display but this was missing on the 13ft 5in ones because the 3in was taken out between the floors.

I'm not an expert on the VR, but I always understood it came in two different heights, 'highbridge' at 14'6 and 'lowbridge' at 13'8, these being the two heights which would attract full Bus Grant from the Dept of Transport. The only exception I know of, in UK at least, is the batch of 13'5 ers for City of Oxford Motor Services. Possibly these may have been for its South Midland subsidiary and, with reorganisation in the NBC, some may have ended up with United Counties.spiked is free for all to read. Further OPD2 variants were added by 1954/5, retaining 17ft 6in wheelbases for 27ft 6in bodies, 8ft width and air brakes. These were: Nobody should be pressured into sex with anybody, for any reason. I wouldn’t want someone to feel they had to have sex with me out of social pressure, but it’d be fair to ask whether racism plays a part in announcing every 5 minutes that they’d never sleep with a woman of colour!” This was to have been a standard Leyland wartime utility bus, with 500 commissioned by the Ministry of Supply: a Leyland Utility body was constructed by October 1941, [17] but, in a change of Government policy, Guy Motors were commissioned to build 500 chassis to the same outline drawings as the TD8, and Leyland's output for the duration was centred upon tanks. These Guy buses were the first of the famous utility Guy Arab Is and IIs, the earliest being bodied in early 1942. TD9 was used internally for the design work on what would become the post-war PD1 and PD2 Titans. [9] The Titanic [ edit ] Gary, one of Swinscoe’s six children, of whom four are still alive, took his father’s disappearance particularly hard and dedicated years of his life to searching for him, combing fields and abandoned buildings, and hiring a private investigator. It was a revelation for Swinscoe’s family, who had always wondered what happened to him when he disappeared in January 1967, aged 54.
