It also allows you to do two things : calculate the soot content and regeneration. Funny enough on my car i had to recalculate the soot content as the old DPF sensor kept reporting 400%, putting the car in limp modeand refusing to do any cycles. New sensor and a recalculation followed by a forced regen, car is down to 20%. Purely because OBD is only looking at a handful of codes, which vary from Car Manufacturer to Car Manufacturer, it all depends what they deem as "Emission Related"..........
