About this deal

With 16 RGB LEDs on a modern pump head design, the ELITE series deliver great cooling with the looks to match.

Hydro Series™ H100i v2 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

The cooling unit itself has two cables to plug in, a SATA power connector, and a pump sensor cable. The SATA power connector should be connected directly to an available SATA power cable from your PSU, and the 3 pin (with only a single sensor wire) fan connector should be plugged into your CPU fan header on the motherboard. The sensor cable relays pump RPM information to both the BIOS and to the Corsair Link V2 software, and lets your motherboard know that you have a CPU cooler installed. Most motherboard headers are designed for 1A of power, with the liquid cooling headers usually being 2A.

Let me go grab both coolers (including the one not available for sale in my country) and I’ll go run several hours of temperature and sound testing for an unspecified CPU and fan set. I solved my issue by installing a powered internal USB hub, plugged into my motherboard's USB header and powered by my power supply. I then plugged my Commander Pro's USB cable into the hub. This solution was suggested to me by Corsair support as my motherboard (Asus Prime X570 Pro) has a known issue of not providing enough usb power to the H100. For my issue, it was a simple fix.I ended up disconnecting the USB cable from the cooler and replugging it. This seemed to fix the problem and my cooler is now synced with the rest of my PC. Even with the different fans, the end performance is differences are tenths of a degree on the test bench. That effectively means zero. Fans are replaceable and there is no requirement you use the ones that come with it. Obviously that adds a cost factor is buying new ones and the price of 2 x ML120 fans (RGB or not) likely makes the coolers the same total price. If you are worried about the fans, the Pro series has an inherent advantage. However, I still think this really turns on the RGB vs no RGB. There is no meaningful performance difference between the two coolers. My Corsair H100i Pro is not being detected in iCUE, I have installed the micro USB header to both USB headers on my Commander Pro and still no detection from iCUE. I even tried to connect the USB 2.0 to the spare connection on my motherboard and still no detection from iCUE. Is my cable faulty or do I need to replace the entire AIO? If you want to see diagrams or more detailed installation instructions, consult your cooler product manual. If you cannot find your product manual, you can use this manual for the H100i Platinum.
