This luminance value increases to 61000 lux at 1 m with the reflector. In comparison to VL150, the 180W Aputure LS C120D II offers a brighter output of 7000 lux at one meter with a bare bulb. When coupled with a 2X Fresnel the lux value increase to an incredible 67000 at 1m. Note that Aputure LS C120D II can only produce only 24000 lux compared to the 61000 lux at 1m with the in-box reflector. This difference in light output is obvious here due to the wattage difference. Aputure LS C120D II no doubt is capable of offering a brighter output than VL150, it loses against the Godox model when it comes to light output per watt.
The Godox VLII Series can deliver a brightness of up to 76,000 Lux at 1m with the standard reflector (6,100 lux bare bulb). This makes the Godox VLII series powerful workhorses for cinematography and video production. In addition, both models use the same battery plate 1 x V-Mount. In terms of connectivity, Aputure LS C120D II features a 5-pin XLR whereas the Godox VL150 is equipped with a 4-pin XLR power input connector. For the Godox VL Series, there are currently three different lighting units to choose between. Firstly, we have the Godox VL150 LED Light, followed by the Godox VL200 LED Light and finally the Godox VL300 LED Light. Both models deliver somewhat similar light output. Godox VL150 can deliver 61000 lux at 1m with just the standard reflector whereas the SL150W II models can deliver 58000 lux at 1m with the standard reflector. Practically, there is only a slight difference between the lux value at 5600K and it can be further increased using a Fresnel. Both models can dim their light as low as 0% from full brightness giving you full control over what you are buying. However they have no good solutions for the ML lights. They have a nice set of Godox mount softboxes though they could do with a Light Dome equivalent and possibly a Lantern. They need a Godox mount Fresnel if they want the light to compete properly with the Forza 60. Arguably they should have something to compete with the Forza 60 projection attachment but the S30/S60 has that function very well covered. The VLII series features an ultra-quiet cooling fan, rated at less than 30 dB. This makes them suitable for use in sound-sensitive filming situations such as filming interviews, Can be Powered Anywhere
