About this deal

Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare. If you look at all the accessories it came with, I’m positively surprised. This amount of high-quality accessories I like a lot. I bought this flashlight on Aliexpress, but you can get them anywhere you want. What you’ll get:

PD36R Pro - Fenixlight PD36R Pro - Fenixlight

I really like Fenix lights but I want them to have direct access to low lumens. If they let you push and hold the side switch to access a super low lumen made that would be awesome. Turbo: 2800 Lumens, (3 hrs 30 mins), High: 1000 Lumens (3 hrs 55 mins), Med: 350 Lumens (8 hrs 15 min), Low: 150 Lumens (19 hrs), Eco: 30 lumens (42 hrs), Strobe: 2500 Lumens I charged the included 5000mAh battery (Rated at 4870mAh in my testing) from LVP at 3.044V to Full at 4.227V in 4:13:00. The charging speed starts off slow for the first few minutes, then increase significantly with a peak of 2.5A before slowly declining. The total charge time was 4:10:00. One thing that was concerning was that the terminating voltage was slightly too high. Not sure if this was my multimeter or maybe due to the prototype nature of my light. When fully charged the side LED indicator goes from Red to Blue. Strobe is activated by holding the side switch for 0.5 seconds when the torch is turned on. A single press will return the torch to the previous brightness setting. The last used brightness setting (excluding strobe) will be remembered next time the light is turned on.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Before diving into a comparison of the two companies’ products, it’s worth discussing some of the terms used to measure performance in flashlights. When a light manufacturer wants to express the light output of a device, it uses the lumen. This is usually the first number you’ll see quoted in reference to a light. The more lumens a flashlight has, the more light it emits in all directions. I compare everything to the KillzoneFlashlights.com 219b BLF-348 because it’s inexpensive and has the best tint! Conclusion What I like The switch features a built-in battery indicator that displays the battery status for 3 seconds every time the torch is turned on when using the included battery. A solid green light indicates saturated, flashing green is sufficient, solid red is poor and flashing red is critical. The battery indicator also acts as a low voltage warning light while the torch is in use when using the included battery. Q6. Why does the PD36R Pro downshift to a lower mode after being used for a while and the higher mode cannot be selected?

He has been writing about hunting, fishing, trail running, camping, skiing, and more for 15+ years. The Firmware is rather simple. The side-switch is used to change modes, going from Eco to Turbo. The tail switch is only used for power. The UI is rather simple. Modes:

The only way to charge them is with the flashlight itself, there is a charging port on the side of the light covered by a rubber bumper. It seems to seal completely, but if it were to open while submerged the exposed port would negate the waterproofing. At 1,600 lumens, the battery, on a full charge, will last for 2 hours and 50 minutes. At this output, the PD36R has a throw of 283 meters — almost the same as the M2R Pro Warrior. The lower maximum output and intensity produce a less bright and sharply defined hotspot with more spill. Despite this, it’s still highly effective for illuminating outdoor environments. Fenix PD36R A: The PD36R is an ultra-compact flashlight with a powerful USB Type-C charging port. Driven by a long-lasting 21700/5000mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery, the light emits a max output of 1600 lumens and 283 meters. Dual switches control five output levels and strobe for easy and fast operation. Additional featuresincludebattery level indicator, smart output memory and two-position body clip, allwhich enhance daily usage in outdoor activitiesand tactical applications.

Fenix: Which Brand Makes the Better Flashlight? Olight vs. Fenix: Which Brand Makes the Better Flashlight?

This increased light output and intensity does come at the expense of increased weight and length. The X9R is 12.6 inches in length and weighs 65.43 ounces — almost half a pound more. Note: *The turbo output is measured at total run-time, including output at reduced levels due to temperature or the built-in protection mechanism. C to C charging does work, but as you can see, the charging profile is a bit strange, and not at all ideal. It also takes much longer than A to C! Five brightness levels, plus strobe mode are available and operated with the tactical tail switch and side functional switch. The PD36R is turned on and off with the tactical tail switch by fully pressing it down, and it also offers a momentary function by half pressing the button (the light will turn off when the button is released). Once the torch is on, the side switch will cycle through turbo, eco, low, mid, high with each press. Q8. Why does the PD36R PRO downshift to a lower mode after being used for a while and the higher mode cannot be selected?

Tested to ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard using 1 x Fenix ARB-L21-5000 21700 lithium-ion rechargeable battery. Results may vary between torch, battery and environments.
