The internal speakers are another aspect of the laptop that will go underused by gamers who’ll prefer to use headphones or external speakers. What’s here isn’t terrible, but it’s not great, either. The charger cord has a HUGE heavy charger box associated with it. I guess that's for surge protection. My main problem with it isn't the size or weight. It is that the cord doesn't stay plugged into the charger box thing. The slightest jiggling seems to dislodge it enough that the little blue light on the cord goes off. The battery life doesn't seem to be anything spectacular, so I don't like it that it can be so easily unintentionally unplugged. I'm thinking about putting something on it to keep it plugged in. The end result weighs just 25 grams, all thanks to the custom-made lightweight shell. The internals of the mouse belong to the Razer Viper V2 Pro, and OptimumTech doesn't seem to have made any changes to that, but the outside looks drastically different. In all honesty, it kind of looks like what would happen to a regular gaming mouse if you dropped it from three stories up and it fell apart. Whether it was Shadow of the Tomb Raider or Civilization VI, I was able to get the games running after a bit of tweaking in the video settings. Bear in mind though, even after dropping the graphics settings to medium or low for these two titles, I couldn’t better 30fps. on Dell internal analysis using publicly available specs in August 2023 comparing maximum effective capacity for PowerStore 1200 and FlashArray //X20. Assumes average 4:1 data reduction for PowerStore, 5:1 for Pure Storage. Actual results vary. This review focuses on the Core i5-8300HQ processor. As the benchmark test discussed below will reveal, for a laptop equipped with this level of processor, the Dell G3 15 3579 performs excellently. How has Dell got away with building such a specced-up machine for just shy of a grand? They’ve had to cut a few corners. Screen quality in particular has suffered on the altar of compromise. But considering how low the price is, the Dell G3 is still a very good deal for on-the-go gaming.
There’s a lot to talk about with the Dell G3 15 (2019). It has received a significant overhaul, both on the inside and out, and makes its predecessor look horribly outdated by comparison.
