The comic starts off with a cute little cloud. She was fluffy and dead. The sun was mean to the little cloud, and tells her that she is creepy. The little cloud gets sad and starts to cry. Her tears watered the dead flowers, the Skelopup (skeleton puppy) was hydrated, and Ghost Girl and Skeleton Boy were having fun in the puddles. They all cheer for the little cloud, saying "thank you for the nice rain!" and they become friends. But then, the sun suddenly appears and starts to insult the little cloud and her new friends. Ghost girl tells everyone that just ignore the sun and it'll go away. And it worked. Soon, the moon and stars came out, and they played under the moon! Welcome to Cat Kid Comic Club! Chubbs sits on Jake the Spider. Then the venom transforms Chubbs' butt into a Spiderbutt. Then they decide to become superheroes and build a cool van. They soon encounter the Not Very Nice Club. The leader taunts them continuously, while unsuccessfully training his mentee to be unkind.

One of the comics presented in Chapter 4 is a reference to a similar fake book 'teased' in the end of Captain Underpants 8.

Frankie, C.C., and Boo used to work as Law Enforcers. But they changed their minds and became space heroes. They detect a bully on a planet, and try to stop the bully. But the bully ejects an evil robot out of his body. The baby frogs turn the robot into a good robot, and they prompt him to hug the bully. The bully runs away, and the victim is saved. The teased sequel to Chubbs McSpiderbutt is called "Chubbs McSpiderbutt 2: The Birth of Big Bubba Babyhead", a reference to Ambassador Babyhead, an action figure George and Harold played with in the first intro of Dog Man: Fetch-22.In El's profile, it says their pronouns are they/them, which might mean that they are non-binary, or their gender is not confirmed. Cat Kid Comic Club is a spinoff of the incredibly well written children's comic Dog Man, by Dav Pilky, which focus on children expressing themselves though comics in their own style. There’s the main story of Cat Kid and Molly teaching Flippy’s adopted frog children how to make comics, and then some other short stories scattered about, made by the kids. Melvin and Naomi often take the spotlight through their arguments and pursuits of getting published, but all the kids get a chance to shine by showing off their own collaborative comics, which also have ongoing stories and evolve throughout the whole series.
