Yeah, well, I’m glad that you’re asking it again because I think, on the face, it’s a good night book, right? It’s sort of a nighttime night story. So, I guess I just really do hope that the message of facing the unknown isn’t so buried that it doesn’t get noticed. I hope that comes through somehow. It's Igglepiggle's birthday - but it seems that all of his friends in the Night Garden have forgotten! Igglepiggle is sad to find that nobody wants to play today. But there are a few things going on around the garden that Igglepiggle hasn't spotted. Makka Pakka is painting a special stone, the Tombliboos are hanging bunting, and the Pontipines have made a cake . . . Maybe Igglepiggle's friends haven't forgotten his birthday after all! A gentle, collage-illustrated bedtime read about the often mysterious and always beautiful experiences to be found in nighttime spaces. My particular favorites were the witches drowning in light, the ones who would not die, the irascible pirate mermaid, and all the selkie stories. The dog monks were a great treat as well. So, the art travels to and from China, like, four or five times, which is kind of insane, right? I don’t think about it that much, but yeah. But in this the stories just pile on top of each other, The girl starts out with a story and then someone in that story tells a story to another character and then we go into that story and so on.I think since tiny-hood, I’ve always loved books. I’ve loved them as objects. I’ve loved them as just the form of a book. And even as a really little kid, we’d go to the library once a week, and we each were allowed to, I don’t know, get a little pile of books. So, I’ve always been a reader. I don’t think I’ve always actively thought of I may not even still think of myself as a writer. I don’t think I would introduce myself as a writer. And that’s just because even though I’ve always written, that’s not my training. My training is in design and in art. In the Night Garden...Live! started a first UK tour in July 2010. The show took place in an inflatable purpose-built show-dome. The show debuted and premiered in Liverpool and moved on to London, Glasgow and Birmingham.
