Been putting off buying some binoculars as the choice (size/price/quality) was too debatable. Came across Avalon and decided to go for it. Great price. Next day delivery. Was thinking about getting the 10×40 but decided to go for lighter and more compact. Excellent choice. I’m really pleased with them. They come with a case, strap and lens cleaner, all good quality. Perfect for bird watching and taking away on holiday/days out. Would highly recommend. Love the lightness of the product, but rather disappointed that the rubber round the top of the lenses don't roll down as stated in the description, which means I have to remove my glasses when wanting to use them. View this product → This is the first pair of binoculars I have owned. Up until now I’ve relied on using my husband’s, which are good, but very heavy. These are great! The field of vision is good and the image is very sharp. Best of all, they’re light enough and small enough to keep under my coat when we’re walking.

Lightweight, compact to mid-sized, professional level binoculars weighing only 416 grams (14.7 Oz). I am looking for binoculars on a tripod stand for my living room that would look attractive to watch birds in my fairly large garden. I am a complete novice, can you advise? Are there a couple of options you could recommend, and are there any particular advantages/ disadvantages to either. I would like to buy a decent pair that will last for some years, as they will be a present for a special birthday.

I currently have an old pair of Bushnell 10×42 binoculars, which are a bit heavy and I’m thinking I’d like something not so heavy and a little smaller. Also something to consider is that I wear eye glasses. The Avalon 10×42 PRO HD are the world’s lightest professional level binoculars. They are not strictly bird watching binoculars but more of an all-around performer, suitable for any kind of wildlife exploration, sight seeing or travel. Alternatively if you like to travel light, then we also recommend the smaller version Avalon 8×32 Mini HD binoculars. These have a wider field of view and can be used single handed. Details below:

Very impressed with these binoculars. Very sharp, very bright and very light. I think they are excellent value for the money and I would highly recommend them. I bought a detachable camera strap to give me extra length and comfort and so I can carry them on one shoulder and across my chest. This is my first pair of binoculars so I’ve got nothing to compare them with , but I really like them .

A rugged, smallish, lightweight pair of binoculars ideal for travel and a broad range of uses – birds, boats, distant land features etc etc. Perfect for our needs. I bought these binoculars for hiking and travelling. They are excellent – compact, lightweight, clear and easy to use.So, watch out for low-quality optics by listening to what the vendor says about its product. The definition of “coated” might mean one layer of anti-reflection protection per some vendors. This is usually just the top and bottom elements or the things that can be seen. The definition of “fully coated” is that all of the air on the glass surface has an anti-reflection coating. This is a good thing. The definition of “multi coated” is that some of the surfaces, normally the bottom and top one have a lot of layers of the coating.

Now being a pensioner, age has come with less steady & cramping hands. I have currently a 10 x 42 pair (not Avalon) with which I was struggling holding for any length of time. I bought the lighter Avalon 8 x 32 model to improve both of the above problems & I’m definitely not disappointed: quality optics at a great price! The image will have better stabilisation: When it comes to handheld binoculars, having powerful magnification is not always a benefit. A 12x or 16x magnified image will shake significantly more than a 10x magnified image. Waterproof and fog-proof, body internally purged with nitrogen gas to prevent corrosion or lens fogging. Stable image for optimal use onboard a boat or ship as well as on land. Very pleased with these binoculars. I already had a higher magnification pair but seldom use them as so bulky. These are compact, easy to use due to good field of view and image is very clear and sharp. Highly recommended. These are actually my second pair as the 1st set developed a fault on o the left eye adjuster and I was absolutely thrilled to be sent a brand new pair of binoculars- when they say lifetime guarantee they genuinely do stand behind it .

Hi, I am looking to buy some binoculars for bird watching, plane spotting as well as other general use. She keeps them in her car for bird watching and when taking the dog out. Loves the clarity and also that they are compact enough to be portable. It's likely that no further discussion is required, in which case we recommend starting a new thread. If however you feel your response is required you can still do so. I bought these binos for my husband’s birthday and we all love them – great clarity, light, good feel and with a lovely carry case. These binoculars are exactly as advertised. Sharp and clear, great for people who wear glasses, easy to adjust and lightweight. They are excellent value for money. The added bonus is a professional company with relevant expertise- so much better than buying any old pair from an online firm. Highly recommended.
