Introducing the Alto TX310, a 350-watt powered speaker perfect for a variety of live sound situations. With the TX3 Series, Alto Professional has created a family of powered loudspeakers suitable for your most demanding gigs, night after night. Utilizing much of the technology of our acclaimed TS3 series, the new TX3 Series delivers the power and clarity you need to sound your best. The Alto TX308 is a 350 watt active loudspeaker designed for a wide variety of live situations. The TX308 features a bi-amp 2 way design, with an 8" long excursion woofer and a 1" titanium compression driver in a precision horn. The horn design improves high frequency performance and produces a very precise 90°x 60° dispersion that achieves optimum coverage. The Class D power amplifier achieves a maximum sound pressure level of 113 dB. The frequency range covers 75 Hz to 20 kHz. While these do sound alright, especially for the money, the TX10’s strongest suits would be its portability and loudness. As I’ve mentioned, you can easily take this from your bedroom DJ / practice set-up straight to your gig, whether you choose to have it as a booth monitor or as a speaker to fill some of the quieter spaces of your venue. I can imagine some mobile guys using this as a speaker to pipe music to another room that would otherwise not be covered by their main speakers, for instance. One of the trade-offs of their light weight and therefore portability is going to be sound quality (solid, heavy speakers tend to sound better). Clean Appearance– The DHR10 looks the part. A sleek and clean speaker that blends in perfectly in any gig environment. Tapping on the case reveals some panel resonances, which is not uncommon with moulded speaker enclosures, and this is most likely a contributing factor to the lower‑midrange sound coloration I heard when playing full‑range material through the TX310. I got the impression that the speaker had been voiced to give a good account of the low end and to deliver a crisp treble, but at the expense of some midrange clarity. Some low‑mid cut centred around 200Hz cleaned this up to a useful degree, especially in a vocal PA setting, as it helped tame some of that unwanted boxiness. There’s also a useful amount of mic gain if you plug a mic directly into the XLR input, which is always good to know for those ‘broken mixer’ emergencies or for basic announcement work, though there’s no opportunity to add EQ or effects if you work that way.

Clear Sound Delivery– Clarity across all frequencies is excellent. Clean mids and highs and enough depth to deliver a smooth low end. I got this powered speaker to go with my modest setup. I am running a mixer main bus out to this speaker. It has sound fidelity sufficient to allow all of the tweaks required to get my guitar and vocal tone dialed in. It is so good that I will acquire another one so I can have a stereo mix. More than adequate for a small venue, and I think that two would handle a medium venue reasonably well, depending on the venue. No boominess, just clean meaty bass that is extremely satisfying. Durable Construction– The tough cabinet and steel grille ensure that this speaker can handle the rigors of frequent gigging. Tech Specs

I’ve had a handful of bad experiences with PA speakers during my teen years as a “mobile” DJ (ie an excuse to pool cash with a few friends to buy gear and play parties to meet girls), but that was during the 90s when affordable active speakers were harder to find, so we had to resort to DIY-built, extremely heavy speaker cabinets and bass bins that required two people to carry them, leading to pulled muscles and almost-slipped discs. (I still have one such speaker as a keepsake from those “good ol’ days”…) Plenty of Thump– At 134 dB the ETX-10P has plenty of power to fill a small to medium-sized space. Excellent bass delivery with a distinct punch. Balanced Output– Sound quality is impressive. A nice balance between all frequencies. It does lean towards a more neutral response but the output is easy to tailor.
