This is my signature scent since it came out. I always buy new fragrances, heavier, sweeter, more intense , but i always have at least a bottle of this one. I unfortunately did get the reformulated version as many others complained but what can we do? Shit happens. It opens similar to what it was 20 years ago and dissapears within an hour without any further development. (Basically it became a ridiculously expensive body mist.) The newer GIO releases have nothing to do with the original. They became typical blue or smoky vanilla crowd pleasers. Maybe Essenza was a bit closer (Also gone for good). Armani destroyed this masterpiece. Absolutely love the opening - one of the best I've had the pleasure to experience. However, that only lasts about 5 minutes before the upper-mid notes take hold and bring it down from there. The sea note wave crashes into the side of the earth's cliff (no sandy beach) emitting a green-ish, dirt earth with hints of vetiver permeating the air. Not as clean as the bottle nor in my expectations. Still - there is appeal here, but different than I thought. If you like it, ADG has a refillable option which is a nice offer. I’ve had this cologne off and on since 2009. It’s a classic and always garners compliments. Fresh with a little edge in the musk. Profondo is more modern I feel It is still a perfectly reasonable signature scent that is recognizable and most people probably associate good memories with.

Conclusion: Trust the classics when in doubt, smelling ‘clean’ will always be safe whether you’re a newbie or a veteran… this will do its job. Acqua di Giò Profondo was launched in 2020. The nose behind this fragrance is Alberto Morillas. Top notes are Sea Notes, Aquozone, Bergamot and Green Mandarin; middle notes are Rosemary, Lavender, Cypress and Mastic or Lentisque; base notes are Mineral notes, Musk, Patchouli and Amber. Fresh aquatic green fragrance with some citrusy and metallic notes. It also has a small hint of sweetness during the drydown. From the really beginning you can catch the citrus notes and the marines ones, those will remind you of the beach and summer days, making it an extremely pleasant smell. Fresh, ice lemonade, citrusy smells that is perfect for outdoor. The smell is very familiar, and it is, again, refreshing.

As it dries down, the scent becomes very earthy and green. The sea notes retreat but it still retains some freshness.Logetivity on me is ard 4-5hrs ish . Better than the diptique EDP one , since those last ard 2-3hrs on me . The opening is my favorite part of this fragrance, but I do greatly enjoy it through all stages. The drydown is where it differs most from Profumo, it’s more of a mineral/aquatic vibe throughout, not as warm.
