On Oct. 22, 2009, the international Telecommunication Union (ITU) announced to include Micro-USB interface into the Universal Charging Solution (UCS) that has been adopted broadly by industry. For further clarification, the USB-IF has provided updated branding for each tier which consists of the familiar SuperSpeed USB branding followed by the data transfer limit. On some old (2009–2010) Ibex Peak-based motherboards, the built-in USB3.0 chipsets are connected by default via a 2.5 GT/s PCI Express lane of the PCH, which then did not provide full PCI Express 2.0 speed (5GT/s), so it did not provide enough bandwidth even for a single USB3.0 port.
