I don’t see it holding up well in more active or dangerous situations, and while Timex says it has 30m/98ft worth of water resistance, I don’t think I’d take it for a swim either. Strap and Clasp Unlike some watches – where my dinky wrist (6.5″) takes the tightest hole (watch it!) – the Timex Weekender is a unisex watch with about an inch of adjustment on either side of my wrist. The webbing is firm and substantial without being stiff or bulky. The holes aren’t stretching or fraying yet, so mission accomplished. Not only is the 1962’s case size small-wrist-friendly, but it also features a tachymeter bezel, typically used to calculate speed. While the bezel is relatively thin, it has just enough presence on this 39-millimeter case. Chronographs are great, aren’t they? They look cool and sporty, and they have an auto racing and flight history that should get any guy’s blood pumping. Same goes for the Timex Weekender’s mineral glass crystal. It sits flat and flush, befitting the watch’s thin, minimalist geometry. The glass will live to the first battery change without a scratch, but show a beating if delivered.To be completely honest, the Weekender is an affordable quartz timepiece with a simple design that is quite perfect for casual wear. It has a minimalist design language, quite shiny appearance, and changeable straps that help to create a wide variety. Actually solved my own problem. Decided to play with it a little more at the store and realized that the chronograph just needed to be recalibrated. After doing so, it worked perfectly and I decided to buy it. Reply Analog / Digital Combo is a watch with both an analog dial and a digital display, these are powered by a quartz battery. Quartz movements are highly accurate, capable of keeping time to within milliseconds per day. I bought my Weekender most probably 3 years ago and thought that maybe it wouldn't last that long and I gotta buy another watch for rough use very soon. But surprisingly till now, it has been able to keep up with my rough use with just having some minor scratch in it. The more interesting fact is, I haven't even had to change the battery even once! At a comfortable 39 millimeters (plus an iconic tachymeter bezel), it’s ideal for guys who love the heritage of the famous watch but don’t have the wrists for the real thing. As far as I know, no one ever faced any time issue in this watch including me. It's quite handy and useful.The variant of the Weekender that I bought was a 38mm dial. The size of the dial felt very decent and comfortable to me. This was suitable enough to fit on any man's average-sized wrist without becoming overbearing.

The glass is a plain old mineral glass crystal, not the more expensive sapphire, so it's a little less scratch-prone. But if you are a severe user, then the mineral is occasionally less prone to shatter. Dial The Seiko SNA411 “Flightmaster” might be the quintessential chronograph for smaller wrists. It’s a quartz-powered chronograph with a case that does measure just outside our parameters at 42 millimeters. The Timex Weekender series is a minimalist exercise in affordable timekeeping. This Chronograph (model: TW2P62300) is another example of the things that make a Weekender great: simplicity, ease of use, and timeless style.

Which is just as well. Even with the right tool and experience, swapping straps on a watch with spring bars isn’t exactly plug and play. Any buffoon can slide a one-piece strap through some straight lugs with low-mounted spring bars.

I love me some inexpensive watches, but the 30M “water resistance” is a deal breaker for me. I just don’t trust it, even for hand washing. As the Weekender is available at a very reasonable price, you should not expect its durability to be way too good. But trust me, its durability is too good for a budget watch! Without hesitation, I can definitely assure you that it is durable enough to amaze you and exceed your expectation. I’ve bemoaned the longevity issues surrounding Timex’s metal plated watch cases. This privately borrowed Timex Weekender and my own Easy Reader each have a decade on them. They’re holding up well, but neither owner has exposed their Timex to salt water, caustic chemicals or abrasive environments; and avoided dropping and bashing into things. If you’re lifestyle includes these horological dangers be prepared to practice Wabi-sabi. The first impression of a product greatly impacts the buyer. The Weekender is capable enough to give off a promising impression considering its price. It is a decent one of all quartz watches. Though the first impression varies from person to person, personally I liked it and would recommend you to take a look at this. PerformanceConsidering the nato leather strap, chronograph movement, and overall quality of build, it’s not really fair to compare the Weekender Chronograph to the Casio’s and Seiko 5’s that dominate comparables at that price point. You will find things like the Invicta 90242-002, the Seiko 5 SNK809 ( read our review), and dozens of other options (the vast majority of which fall into “fashion watch” territory). Timex sexed-up its bland three hander by offering the watch with a variety of different colorful and patterned woven straps. Dandies have long done this at home; the concept also found favor for crummy women’s fashion watch sets. The Weekender’s take on multiple bands for the same watch had mass market, ready made, androgynous appeal. One of the most notable sides of the Weekender is it's basically natural, straightforward, gorgeous, and classy without making it way too fancy. It feels less stuffy and goes with any kind of style. The size of a watch depends on the diameter of the dial. Whatever your style is, the choice of a dial is a matter of personal taste.
