About this deal

While written specifically for nurse practitioners, understanding the business and legal side of nursing, in general, is helpful for nurses, as well. While nurse practitioners will experience the most applicable benefits from the book, nurses can also gain valuable insight by reading it. What You Can Do: Advice and Inspiration for the Public, Patients, Families, Nurses, Aspiring Nurses, Managers, and Others All in all, such a great premise with plenty of thrills. The ending was a bit abrupt though. I was really looking forward to reading this, but just fell of the mark a bit. Robbins does give an insight to nursing that you aren't going to hear about from your nursing teacher. She tells some of the behind the scenes secrets even when they are not flattering to the nursing field.

I’m not sure why the book is titled The Nurse. It has nothing vital to do with the plot. Nell is a nurse, but I don’t think the story would change if she was in any other profession. BMJ Best Practice is an award-winning online decision-support tool for use at the point of care. BMJ Best Practice draws on the latest evidence-based research to offer step-by-step guidance on diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and prevention. It gives you a second opinion in an instant and supports your continuing professional development.

Some of the attitudes of some of the doctors had my jaw dropping at their behavior. Not all of the doctors were like that, I'm not saying they all are.. the ones who weren't had me smiling at their kindess and laughing in some cases. I'm about half-way through. I don't know what to make of the book. The writing is sometimes fairly dense research and sometimes anecdotal. The anecdotal the stories of the four nurses is the most interesting but is a problem to me because although the four nurses are so very different, if their names weren't continually in front of me I wouldn't know which is which. Or perhaps I don't care enough? Nursing is more than a career; it is a calling. Nurses are remarkable. Yet contemporary literature largely neglects them. From her many years as a Hospice counselor comes Maria’s elegant and beautiful outlook on death, seeing it not as a scary and fearful thing but as life’s last adventure. Through her writing, she hopes to teach others how to deal with death and how to see it as a peaceful transition rather than a terrifying destination. Since nurses will inevitably have to deal with death during the course of their careers and since it is important to know how to teach patients to deal with death, this book should absolutely be on the bookshelf of every nurse. Even though this book was penned, literally, by Florence Nightingale in 1859, it is still highly relevant to the career of every nurse today and deserves a place at the top of every nurse’s reading list.

The best nursing books every nurse should read include inspirational books for nurses, nursing books for beginners, experienced nurses, and also popular books. In the field of nursing, as in most professions, it is incredibly important to stay current on industry information. From critical care to professional development, it is important to read frequently. However, there is so much information available that narrowing down which books are best to read or use for reference can be a rather daunting task. What’s One Book Every Nurse Should Read? I shouldn't have been surprised to know that Nursing is listed as the third most dangerous profession behind police officers and correctional officers. The author has gone behind the scenes and followed some real-life nurses and interviewed many others to show what really goes on in our hospitals and these peoples lives.Sam, a new nurse who is a quiet introvert in a world that nurses sometimes "eat their own." --I hate that this happens but it honestly does. New nurses are automatically not trusted on the floor and must earn their stripes from nurses that have been doing this for years. The title for me was misleading and perhaps should have made it clearer that it was mainly about the ER nurses. However, since this book did include topics that are definitely problems in all areas of the nursing world, I am giving it four stars. While the author’s experience working in the field of nursing may have made him somewhat of a cynic, this book still offers a unique and interesting perspective into the life of a critical care nurse and is a beneficial read for nurses in all specializations.

There is hardly an emergency or critical care situation that Sherry has not worked in as a nurse. From the emergency room to Hurricane Katrina, she has put her nursing skills to work saving countless lives. In this book, she discusses traumatic situations and critical care from the patient’s and nurse’s point of view and offers an honest look into the life of a critical care nurse. Even for nurses who do not specialize in critical care, this book is a great read. The Last Adventure of Life: Sacred Resources for Living and Dying from a Hospice Counselor by Maria Dancing HeartPines Memorial Hospital is a pleasant-looking cream-colored building with a sixteen-story tower and broad, welcoming windows overlooking a quiet tree-lined suburban avenue. After decades of independence, the neighborhood’s favorite hospital was bought out by Westnorth, a large healthcare corporation, which is slowly diluting the local flavor. With 190 beds, Pines Memorial serves a highly educated, wealthy population with a large percentage of academics, retirees, and nursing home residents. Because it is close to a major highway, Pines’ emergency room, which has approximately 60,000 visits per year, often treats victims of major-impact car accidents. Nurses joke that the hospital should be called Highway Memorial, because the risks of the highway are far more relevant to the medical staff than the quiet red pine forests outside of town. This book is about missing girls and incels. We start off with a prologue of a date that is going awry. We are then introduced to a mother who has just been informed that her adult daughter is missing. We alternate between her and AN INCEL! We know of no connection.
