About this deal

The new symbol had the same shape as the familiar pentagon but more rounded edges. The "S" was still there but had abroader line in the center and thin ends. In its original inception in Action Comics #1, Superman's symbol was a letter S with red and blue on a yellow police badge symbol that resembled a shield. The symbol was first changed a few issues later in Action Comics #7. The shield varied over the first few years of the comics, and many times was nothing more than an inverted triangle with an S inside of it. After the events of Flashpoint, the DC Universe was once again rebooted, and the continuity of Superman's franchise was changed completely. The Superman logo today stands as a beacon of all things good and powerful in the comic book world and continues to inspire people around the globe.According to the story, yellow and red also have their own distinct meanings. Red reminds Superman of the sun of Krypton – his home planet. Alternatively, the yellow coloring represents our sun here on earth, which activates Superman’s powers. For the 1978 "Superman" movie, they designed a slightly different symbol for Christopher Reeve's chest. Most of the designs were by award-winning costume designer Yvonne Blake. Blake remembered: In earlier Superman stories, the logo was simply an initial for "Superman", but in the 1978 film, it became the family crest of the House of El, the family of Superman. Created by artist Joe Shuster and writer Jerry Siegel, Superman (real name: Kal-El) is one of the three most popular superheroes from the DC universe, alongside Batman and Wonder Woman. Initially a villain created for a short story known as The Reign of the Superman and possibly influenced by Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche's concept of the Übermensch, the character wouldn't have the status of a hero nor his powers until a short story, The Superman, released the same year. Although the duo had worked hard and received promising letters from Consolidated Book Publishing in regards to its publication, they eventually dropped out and the story was burned by Siegel, making it lost media. The Superman character would eventually be used in the story they sold to DC Comics, which published it in June 1938's Action Comics #1. The Superman logo has been tweaked several times over the years. However, many initial changes happened during the design’s early years. During the same year when the initial shield emblem and comic were introduced, a triangle emblem also appeared. For many years, the creators of the significant Superman logo have changed the insignia to some extent but the fundamental elements of the logo have remained unaltered. The elegance in the Superman logo has been well taken care of and still continues to impose a magnificent impression on its spectators.Fandango Media ( assets) 11 | The Wolper Organization | Turner Entertainment Co. | Warner Bros. The two variations of the Superman logo here wholly changed the color scheme and the style of the patented “S.” The overall image was sharper and more aggressive. Mark Waid's 2003 reboot Superman: Birthright established the symbol as Kryptonian. His parents Jor-El and Lara sent him to Earth with a blanket featuring the symbol. [6] Clark originally believed that it was his family crest, but witnessed greater cultural significance surrounding it in his historical texts and came to understand that it was a symbol of hope. While the Superman logo font has undergone several changes, it has almost always made the top part of the “S” more prominent than the bottom. There are also distinct serifs on most of the Superman “S” versions. At the bottom, the letter appears curved, while at the top, it has a squared edge.
