The first thing we noticed when reviewing the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 Plus earbuds is that they have exceptional battery life. You get a total of 45 hours with the charging case and nine hours from the earbuds on their own – and we found they delivered on those bold numbers. The sound they make is also accomplished – it's both swift and accurate, as well as balanced and detailed. There’s nothing artificial about the way the Technics EAH-AZ80 sound, they offer convincingly realistic and coherent listening in all circumstances. As well as the excellent sound on offer here, Sony’s buds offer great call quality, too, which makes them a solid choice for all kinds of scenarios, from commuting to work calls and everything in-between. Design-wise, we found that these earbuds are smaller and lighter than previous models from Sony, like the Sony WF-1000XM3, which means they’re comfy to wear for long periods – though the Sony WF-C700N are much smaller and lighter again.Aside from producing robust lows and crisp highs, the Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 NC earphones benefit from a top-notch companion app with an adjustable EQ. They also deliver excellent active noise cancellation for the price, making them an excellent value choice. Who It’s For I totally wouldn't find it weird! Although I'm one of these weirdos who finds it really satisfying to clean lots of wax out of ears! In virtually every respect, the EAH-AZ80 make a strong case for themselves. An IP54 rating means that the Buds 4 Pro are sweat-proof and should stand up to a rain shower or two. I wore them out and about in the wet and blustery Cornish autumn, and they held out fine, so I can’t imagine any urban settings posing a problem. The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds offer the best active noise cancellation of any earphones we've tested. That alone qualifies them for this list, but we're also fans of their rich, engrossing audio experience, as well as their intuitive companion app. We like that they support the AptX Adaptive codec for Android users, too. Building on the success of the Redmi Buds 3 Pro, this new generation is another excellent offering from the Xiaomi brand. Good sound quality, comfortable to wear, solid battery life, and the ANC, Immersive Sound and Hi-Res Audio features offer great value at this price. However, Beats earbuds offer a great fit and excellent sound. Particularly the Beats Fit Pro, which we highly recommend if you're looking for a pair of earbuds for working out. Something to note is that Immersive Sound and Hi-Res Audio can’t be used at the same time, as Xiaomi states that the features are mutually exclusive. But, there is a bonus feature that can cope with more than one thing at once and that’s the multi-device connectivity. Sony's ANC in these affordable buds is very good, and the noise quality is basically best-in-class at this price. They're also very light and comfortable. Overall, they are excellent earbuds that make a step up from everyday listening, falling just short of the very best from Sennheiser and Sony. There’s also Hi-Res Audio capabilities built into the Buds 4 Pro. Xiaomi has added support from Sony’s LDAC codec, which means you can get transmission speeds of up to 990kbps and 96Hz/24-bit audio resolutions. This makes the quality better than Qualcomm’s AptX, but you’ll need a compatible Android device to use this feature.
Google does not provide an expected lifespan for the battery, but it should last in excess of 500 full-charge cycles with at least 80% of its original capacity. Like most wireless earbuds, the Pixel Buds Pro are not repairable, making them ultimately disposable.
