About this deal

So I tried to end it. I won’t go into detail as I don’t think it’s fair on my mum, but thank God I was unsuccessful.”

As I am a similar age to Rylan I particularly enjoyed the references to growing up in the 1990's and the sections on Big Brother's Big Mouth, This Morning, Eurovision and Radio 2 were interesting to read. However there was such a lot of filler, that when I got to whole chapters which were just lists of things Rylan doesn't like or descriptions of his beauty regime it really felt as though he was struggling to meet the word count or that he had a 3 book deal and that this was the difficult middle book. The star revealed that he didn’t just get mentally ill after his split – he got physically ill too. I knew it wasn’t right. It turned out that my heart had to be restarted. I remember laying in resus and I had all these pads on with all these wires and not understanding what it was,” he said. When Rylan was first on The X Factor I thought he was attention seeking and annoying, but seeing the real side of him in recent years I have grown to like him, so was interested to read his side. During his book talk, An Evening With Rylan Clark, at London’s Royal Festival Hall last week, an audience member told the presenter: ‘You really deserve to be happy and I hope you’re not going to give up on [love].’MORE : Rylan Clark ‘not giving up’ on finding love again after devastating divorce: ‘I’ve learnt to get a prenup’ The chapter on his breakdown was quite hard to read, so I it was definitely good to just do one chapter that was dark, then talk about happier parts. Rylan made a sad confession last year (Credit: ITV) Rylan Clark talks health battle following split Speaking about the split at the time, Rylan said: “I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.”

It became boring when he went on and on about his make up and his perfumes because, honestly, who cares? I doubt there are many men who use anywhere near the amount of make up he slaps on himself. If you aren’t a fan of Rylan I’m taking a guess you’ll hate this. If you like him you’ll find it interestingTen is Rylan's memoir of the decade that changed his life and is ten years of him gracing our TV screens. Throughout the memoir Rylan gives us a warts and all account of his career in television, his divorce, the love he has for his family, especially mum Lynda and his favourite things. At the end of each chapter Rylan gives us his lessons learnt and throughout the book there are letters from some of his favourite people, family, friends and celebrities. I loved this. Audio version obviously. Made all the more special by Rylan’s mum Linda, Clare from steps, his sister in law, his friend and make up artist and his tv mum Ruth writing/reading their own little sections. Possibly cathartic for Ross/Rylan to have written it is difficult to read at times but I don't doubt it was far harder to have lived through. That chapter was really difficult. There was a chapter I wrote that was the angry chapter, the chapter that had nothing in and the chapter that was enough but not enough as real as it could be.
