Wash your hands after applying Regaine to avoid accidentally getting it on other areas of skin - this could cause hair growth where you don't want it. You may need to apply the solution twice a day for at least four months before any hair regrowth becomes noticeable. If you're using the foam you may need to apply it once a day for three to six months before any hair regrowth becomes noticeable. If there's no improvement after six months of using the foam, or after a year of using the solution, you should stop using Regaine for women. Women who have any problems with the skin on the scalp, including psoriasis, eczema, sunburn or broken skin. If you experience any side-effects not included in this leaflet or are unsure of anything, tell your doctor or pharmacist. Storing this medicine The patient should stop using Regaine for Women Regular Strength and see a doctor if hypotension is detected or if the patient is experiencing chest pain, rapid heart beat, faintness or dizziness, sudden unexplained weight gain, swollen hands or feet or persistent redness or irritation of the scalp or other unexpected new symptoms occur (see section 4.8).

This product should not be used concomitantly with other medications applied topically on the scalp (see section 4.3). You should not use Regaine if you are taking any medicines for high blood pressure. Topical drugs, such as corticosteroids, tretinoin, dithranol or petrolatum, which alter the stratum corneum barrier, could result in increased absorption of minoxidil if applied concurrently. Although it has not been demonstrated clinically, there exists the theoretical possibility of absorbed minoxidil potentiating orthostatic hypotension caused by peripheral vasodilators. Minoxidil is not effective for everyone. If you feel there is no improvement after 12 months of using the solution, you should stop using it. There is some evidence from in vitro studies that minoxidil reversibly binds to human plasma proteins. However, since only 1 – 2% of topically applied minoxidil is absorbed, the extent of plasma protein binding occurring in vivo after topical application would be clinically insignificant. The volume of distribution of minoxidil after intravenous administration has been estimated at 70 litres. You can look into disguising and covering up your hair loss with things like wigs, hair extensions, scarves and make-up. Persevere until you find a product and style that suits you. Regaine for Women Regular Strength is indicated for the treatment of alopecia androgenetica in women aged between 18 and 65. If you are using minoxidil foam (brand name Regaine® for Women Once a Day), apply 1 g of foam (half a capful) to the affected area of your scalp once a day. To do this, turn the can upside down and direct the nozzle in to your hand. Press the nozzle until you have the equivalent of half a capful of foam in your hand. Use your fingertips to gently massage the foam into the affected area of scalp. Remember to wash your hands after using the foam so it doesn't get on to other areas of your skin, or on to other people. Since Rogaine isn’t appropriate for all types of hair loss, it’s important to get a correct diagnosis from your doctor before starting this product, even though it’s widely available over the counter.
