About this deal

The face buttons have a reduced actuation distance of 0.65mm, which is 35% less than that of the average membrane controller. This results in an actuation time of approximately10ms. The controller is only wired, and it uses micro-USB. This isn’t a problem for me, but note that if the cable breaks, finding an official replacement seems a bit difficult. You can use any micro-USB cable, however, be sure to buy a very thin one because Razer made a custom plug-in, so big cables won’t fit. All the controllers nowadays can have issues, but it looks like the Razer Wolverine Tournament Edition is the most durable among them all, and with the least amount of potential issues. The Razer Wolverine V2 has rounded bumper grips while the other two controllers are slightly sharper (though still blunt enough to be comfortable for your palm). The Razer Wolverine V2 has 2 remappable multi-function buttons, while the TE has 4 multi-function buttons, and the Ultimate has 4 multi-function triggers. Weighing in at 260 grams (0.57lbs) the Wolverine is significantly lighter than the Xbox Elite controller with batteries (348 grams or 0.77lbs). While heavier weight is often associated with a more premium feel, I'd argue that a lighter controller after a few hours is easier to use.

Now you can remap buttons, cycle profiles and do just about everything else that could more easily be accomplished on the controller’s media keys, but on a TV connected to your Xbox. We likedIgnoring for a moment its wireless incompatibility, the Razer Wolverine Ultimate is, in nearly every way, shape and form, a better controller than the Xbox Elite. I think that Xbox controllers are the best option also for PC users because they became the standard and work flawlessly in any game. The Razer Wolverine Ultimate has only one audience in mind: the really hardcore, couch-based gamers. It’s not ideal if you’re sitting further than 10 feet away from your monitor or TV or necessary for those who enjoy single-player campaigns more than they enjoy the thrills of online competition. The Wolverine Ultimate is Razer’s stab at creating a pro-level Xbox One-style controller for eSports and hardcore competitive gamers. So why buy the Razer Wolverine Ultimate over the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller if the latter has wireless and the former doesn't? For one, the ABXY buttons exhibit performance unparalleled by the Wolverine Ultimate’s closest rival.

Scuff is a very famous brand, and while their controllers are exceptionally good, it looks like they tend to break almost as easily as the Xbox Elite Series 2. Cheap and solid controller for PC Note: this controller is very similar to the Razer Wolverine Ultimate Edition, so I will often compare them. I have not personally tested the following controllers, so I will explain them briefly based on the info I gathered so far. Of course, you can play on PC also with a Switch Pro or Playstation controller, but often you will have to use workarounds, install third-party software, or manually configure each button. Steam is the main exception because there you can select the controller you wish to use, but nowadays our game library is spread out among several platforms. The standard Xbox controller doesn’t require a lot of explanations. I think it is the best choice for players who don’t need extra buttons, and I feel comfortable while playing with it.The ABXY buttons alone are worth the expense - Razer calls them “tactile switches”. They are sort of mechanical buttons that provide an amazing tactile feeling. The Razer Wolverine V2 Pro is a controller focused on competitive play. Vibration (rumble) is not a feature that is typically utilized in competitive settings as it can negatively affect precision when playing games that require more accurate directionalinput.

It is hard-wired and with an average quality cable, so if the cable breaks, your controller is dead.

Razer™ HyperSpeed uses our low latency, 2.4GHz technology found in wireless Razer gaming peripherals. It provides lag-free wireless performance whengaming.

Because of its inclusion of rubberized grips, swappable buttons and customizable paddles, that controller gained a following with Xbox One and Windows 10 PC owners looking to step up their skill levels, whether in Overwatch, Titanfall 2 or the long-sanctified Call of Duty. It also gained traction with a sprinkling of single-player gamers as well, largely for the same reasons. Its wireless incompatibility. This controller isn’t built for casual gamers, nor is it really designed for the hardcore crowd should they ever find themselves playing anything other than competitive multiplayer games. Final verdict There is a design flaw due to which you can’t press the Bumper and Trigger at the same time, or they will grind against each other. The main difference between the Wolverine Ultimate and Tournament Edition’s ABXY buttons is that the former has very light buttons while the latter has harder ones. Honestly, it depends on your preference, but I am mostly a fan of the TE.The Razer Synapse software also lets you assign and store profiles to the controller for your favorite games, something that PC gamers are used to with high-end gaming mice. Razer Wolverine Ultimate – pricey, but worth it (for some) The Wolverine Ultimate looks like a dolled-up, space-age version of a regular Xbox One controller. But in-hand it’s a different beast altogether. The Xbox Series X offers a ton of power for the price. The most powerful console at the moment and with more storage than the PS5, it also has all the benefits of Xbox Game Pass which means you can sign up for the Netflix-style service and have what feels like a never-ending supply of games at your disposal for a monthly fee. Having witnessed a rampaging three-year-old protest the absence of Disneyland Adventures in my games library by sending the Wolverine flying across the lounge onto a hardwood floor, I can also attest to its build quality. The controller survived the experience, which separated it from its USB cable, scratch- and blemish-free. No, the Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma does not support wireless connectivity. It can only be connected to devices using a wired USB connection.
