About this deal

The Society of Antiquaries of London, Notes on Its History and Possessions. First issued on the Occasion of the Bicentenary of the Society's Royal Charter 2 November 1951 Fabian's mother doesn't believe the police when they inform her that he died in a car crash. She keeps seeing him. Desperately she consults a medium who freezes into petrified silence because it's not her imagination. Fabian really wants to return. Frannie is delighted when a chance meeting with a handsome man and his son leads to a romance. The fact that the relationship is marred by gruesome tragedies, she dismisses as an unsettling coincidence. But eventually she can no longer ignore the fact that she is the only thing linking these horrible events. Is it a murderous practical joke? Twenty-five years later, Sam’s nightmares are starting to come true once more. Now a successful TV commercials producer, juggling her roles of career woman, wife and mother, she attempts to shut them out. This one took a while for me to get into. I skimmed quite a bit at the start. I found the amount of characters a little confusing at times, many of them were very similar. There was a lot of use of the words 'darling' and 'dear'.

You may have found that your first ever Peter James book was Book 15 in a series, and that’s okay. But once you realize this, we’d recommend starting at the beginning and working your way forward. This way you can follow the character’s development and progression the way James intended. Roy Grace SeriesWhen investigative reporter Ross Hunter receives a sudden phone call from Dr Harry Cook, little does he suspect how it will change the world forever. Fabian Hightower has been killed in a car crash. At least, that is what a policeman is asking Alex, his mother to believe. But Alex knows she saw him that morning - at a time when he must have been dead. The last time the dream came, Sam was seven years old; and that was the night her parents were to die. Next, chronologically at least, in Peter James’s bibliography are quite a few standalones. After the Max Flynn duology James transitioned to writing standalones for many years before beginning the Roy Grace series. Whatever the answer, something terrifies the medium so much she refuses to return. Alex longs to turn to others for support. But there is a secret about Fabian that only she knows - a secret she must never share...

Peter James began writing standalone novels while he was still working in television and film. Dead Letter Drop was his debut novel in 1981. Forgotten the title or the author of a book? Our BookSleuth is specially designed for you. Visit BookSleuth The second season, which aired in 2022 with four episodes, includes four Roy Grace books: Looking Good Dead, Not Dead Enough, Dead Man’s Footsteps, and Dead Tomorrow. First novel in a long time that has been genuinely creepy. Really fun read without falling into the trap of being ridiculous. Enough tension built up that keeps the story moving and a good twist at the end. Possession follows Alex, a mother whose son Fabian has recently died in tragic circumstances, and wants to help her son's spirit move over to the other side, as he seems to be trapped between life and death. From the very beginning, this gave me goose bumps, as the author set the errie scene perfectly for the reader. It is made obvious that things with Fabian are a little "odd," and as the story unfolds, the secrets that he had been keeping from his mother are revealed, even after his death. This book totally freaked me out, meaning I had to stop and start to compose myself more than once, taking what is relatively a short book, a while for me to complete. In particular, the descriptive scenes of the exorcism and senones were especially gruelling.Peter James was born in Brighton in 1948. He spent his childhood summers in France, as his parents owned a place near St. Tropez. Roy Grace (τα δυο πρώτα βιβλία έχουν μεταφραστεί στα ελληνικά από τις εκδόσεις Modern Times).
