About this deal

Traditional against modern. Nationalist against globalist. Our increasing tendency to identify with an in-group based on shared opinions, values and world-views comes with a critical corollary, a spiralling dislike for an out-group. Spaces are on a first-come, first-served basis. If the course is full, it will be necessary to wait for the next course with available spaces.

Kids especially will love the littlest penguin, Pog! Throughout the story, he asks, “Can we have our picnic?” Another time he announces, “I need a wee.” Finally, eagle-eyed readers will discover that the mischievous Pog is responsible for the surprise ending(s). Think of it as a big adventure. I have often dreamt of being the first polar bear to reach the South Pole…” The penguins are little idiots. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be funny, but I found it annoying.A family of penguins, en route to a picnic, take a right when it should have been a left at the snowman. This unexpected detour takes them on a global adventure with a friendly polar bear a guide. I enjoyed this book because of its depictions of international cities and its wayfinding underbelly. There are plenty of books that provide outstanding geography perspectives. But this book is a good place to start most especially because of a misreading of a map. Poles Apart tells the story of a youngish feminist man name Everett Kane who moves from Toronto, where he’s a freelance writer, to Orlando, Florida, to support his father’s rehabilitation from a stroke. Everett rents an apartment above what he believes is a new restaurant soon to open. It turns out it’s actually a high-end men’s club called XY (you know, the male chromosomes). Of course, there are highly-paid exotic dancers who shed their clothes. Everett is appalled but he loves his apartment and decides to stay, even after they anchor the upper end of the dance pole using a large bolt and nut through his kitchen floor. For some odd reason I pictured the main character Everett looking much like the character Mike from the TV series Suits and the Megan character as Meghan Markle. I loved that there was a side plot of redeeming Everette’s dad by feminist icon Beverley with the use of humour and patience. It shows that people shouldn’t just be written off even if they come across as lost causes. Poles Apart: Why People Turn Against Each Other, and Ho…

Some idiot penguins end up in the North Pole and meet a polar bear. They get lost on their way to a picnic. The bear wants to go to the South Pole. Then all these idiots try to find the South Pole, wandering through various other parts of the world. This became the question behind the Changed my Mind podcast, with Ali’s former colleagues Laura Osborne and Alexandra (Alex) Chesterfield coming onboard. Dubbed by Rory Sutherland, founder of Ogilvy’s Behavioural Science Practice, ‘ the best question he has ever heard’, it has been gaining plaudits and listeners from its inception. Guests to date have included Peter Gabriel, Professor Tali Shalot and Jonathan Haidt. Distributed with openDemocracy, a second series is set to appear this summer. A nice adventurous story of Polar Bear and Penguins and friendship which grew between them with a wrong turn. Illustrations are beautiful and colourful. Our Nordic Walking Group has evolved to become its own little community consisting of friendly, welcoming and supportive people who enjoy a chat whilst they exercise. You can participate social element as much, or as little, as you wish. I generally like Terry Fallis' linear, simple novels, but this one was torturous drivel. Linear, yes, simple, yes....but the content was even more pretentious than ever. Penguins are found at the South Pole until one day Pilchard-Brown took wrong turn on their way to picnic and reached on the other side of the world. They all found enormous white thing which had never been seen by Pilchard-Browns before. He introduced himself as Mr White, a polar bear. Mrs Pilchard-Brown introduced themselves as penguins. Mr White wondered what they doing here in North Pole. And Mr White told them to see the good side of this mistake as a big adventure. And he decided to help them find their way home.

Poles Apart by Ali Goldsworthy - Penguin Books Australia

A funny and heartwarming bedtime story that proves it’s not about the destination but the journey itself. But who is the Eve behind Eve of Equality? Well... not who you might think. Meet Everett Kane, aspiring writer and fervent feminist. He writes his erudite blog in his apartment, at his kitchen table, conveniently but unexpectedly located right above one of the aforementioned XY strip clubs. FINER DETAILS ARE SUBJECT TO ‘VERY MINOR’ CHANGES, E.G. START/END TIMES AND THE SPECIFIC MEETING POINT COULD MOVE/CHANGE A LITTLE.Pavilion Café, Church Rd, Wallington, SM6 7NN - (Please note parking at the Pavilion café, is limited, and under pressure from lots of activities). You will receive support, technique guidance/correction and motivation from a qualified Nordic Walking and First Aid Trained Instructor. Additionally, the Wellbeing Nordic Walks are at a significantly slower pace than other sessions, consequently the distances covered are somewhat shorter. I learned a lot about the women's movement, how to live and question our intentions regarding gender equality in our day to day life, and in general believe the theme of the book is super relevant right now. And with everything going on in the world right now, perhaps a snuggle and a giggle with your child is just what you need.
