About this deal

if it ends with us was about lily, why did colleen hoover work so hard to try and make atlas into a sexy hero? the only thing i could give it ends with us merit for was the message of breaking the cycle (even that is up for debate). this did not need a sequel at all. It Starts with Us shows the after effects of abuse in every form. It shows how realistic, how tragic and how even a happily ever after is still shadowed by the ache and reminder of abuse.

Before It Ends with Us, it started with Atlas. Colleen Hoover tells fan favourite Atlas’s side of the story and shares what comes next in this long-anticipated sequel to It Ends with Us. Theo making fun of Atlas was funny, I actually loved that because THE KEEP SWIMMING LINE WAS CORNY AS SHIT I DON’T CARE I loved both of these books. I was going through a stage where I hadn’t been reading for months and months Despite minor flaws such as how unrealistic the characters *coughs* Alyssa *coughs* can be, It Ends with Us was fun to read and I admire how Hoover interweaves serious themes and personal experiences throughout the book. It gave It Ends with Us a more grounded take which I could relate to at times.New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover’s “glorious and touching” (USA TODAY) phenomenon and its long-anticipated sequel are together in this collection that is perfect for new and longtime fans of the evocative story of Lily, Ryle, and Atlas. Quite a few grammatical errors. I was surprised as popular these books and author are; I thought there'd be better editing. I definitely went into the wrong profession.

i dont think the second book was necessary tbh. And the only thing i liked about ( it starts with us ) was atlas and getting to know him and his past better and watching how well he’s progressed through it all and how strong he’s become. I also loved all his romantic moments with lily because they both deserve each other. When you read these two books, it really does feel like you are going through the experiences of the main character. It really makes you think and sympathize. Maybe that’s why I’m so close to Lily? Not to mention the fact that Lily’s closest friends are Ryle’s sister and his best friend; it is close to impossible to heal from abuse when you are still in such close proximity to your abuser. The way Allysa and Marshall talk about Ryle as if he’s a little kid who just gets mean sometimes, instead of the violent wife beater and attempted rapist that he is, is so strange…. Maybe I’m the weird one, but if someone I “love like a brother” were to push their partner down the stairs and bite them so hard they bled, I simply wouldn’t love them like a brother anymore! It Starts With Us” explores the reality of relationships: Falling in love is easy, but loving is hard work. And in some way, all relationships are flawed — we simply must choose which imperfections we are willing to accept. As we grow older, we all redefine relationships, perhaps reflecting your parents’ love or an act of caring that you received when you were twelve. Some love arrives all at once, like typical parental love, and some love is felt in an instance. The writing’s also addictive and she did a great job setting the book in Boston, so mad props there.

This book is going to be turned into a movie! If you like this book, you should watch it! The film is coming out February 9th, 2024. thanks a lot, CoHo. love your books, including this one, but stay out of reader spaces. please and thank you. The novel begins where It Ends with Us left off, after the novel’s protagonists Lily Kincaid and Atlas Corrigan run into each other on the street, and Lily tells Atlas she and Ryle are now divorced. Told in chapters that alternate between Atlas’s and Lily’s perspectives, the novel begins with Atlas nervously hoping Lily will text him soon like she said she would. This hope keeps him uplifted as he handles the reality that someone broke into his restaurant, Bib’s, and vandalized it with a misspelled profanity. Meanwhile, Lily is incredibly busy at Lily Bloom’s, her flower shop, and is confused about what to do about Atlas, knowing a romance with Atlas will infuriate her jealous and abusive ex-husband, Ryle, with whom she shares jointed custody of their infant daughter Emerson. What I especially think is note-worthy is, like in other books, she has a way of putting things in perspective.

This is the opening line his drunk ass choose to text after having lily in a chokehold💀 why is he so extra For the Ryle apologist and stans: I’m so glad Colleen wrote this book because there’s NO room for y’all’s bullshit. He is an abuser. This isn’t a dark romance. This is a contemporary romance where an abuser stays abusive, continues to be abusive in the tiniest ways and the cycles are broken. He truly and will forever be a terrible person and I’m so glad that this book continuously highlighted that. Abusers don’t “change” and even if they do, the cycle should be broken forever.in conclusion, sometimes you try things and they don’t work out colleen! for me it is ice skating, for you it is writing. and that’s ok! This seems to start up about 18 months or so after Emerson’s birth and Rile & Lily are divorced. I’m disappointed to learn that Lily didn’t speak about her abuse and therefore she doesn’t have total/ solo parenting rights but I think I sorta get where her head is on this.
