Oooooh noo! To my nose this smells like a bunch of VERY overripe exotic fruits mixed with honey. I can't make out the coconut note from the other loud fruity notes. I'm not getting any flowers in this. Socal is a lovely warm and adventurous scent. It's like coming out of the woods and stepping into your shed with a freshly chopped conifer tree over your shoulder, while someone's making you fresh caramel. I was really impressed with enormous sillage and even better longevity for such a cheap perfume. Like...wow

Very pretty, although a little thin, longevity is not the worst (I can smell it for at least 5-6 hours) but it doesn't smell like a proper perfume no matter how much I spray on, too watered down. I like how I can layer it with matching body spray and use a ton, sometimes that's what I want, but with this one I could spill the entire bottle on myself and it would probably still not be enough. The scent opens with a very tropical hit of coconut and melon. There may even be a small hint of citrus in the top notes. As it dries down, I get the deep woody scent of coniferous trees (perhaps pine or spruce) mixed with vanilla sweetness. The basenotes are my favorite aspect of the cologne because the sweetness is balanced by the deep earthy scent of driftwood dried and heated by the summer sun. It lasts relatively long on my skin - about 6-8 hours before it becomes a skin scent. Reminds me very strongly of the white tea Solinotes fragrance (The Blanc), at least in the top/mid.

|Now that I'm building up a bit more of a modern designer collection, I'm not sure I'll be keeping this guy in my rotation, but its given me quit literally, like 15 years of off and on solid service, and I commend that. Probably the longest running scent I've had over the years. Wave 2 For Him by Hollister is a Aromatic Fougere fragrance for men. Wave 2 For Him was launched in 2017. Top notes are Ozonic notes, Bergamot and White Pepper; middle notes are Geranium, Lavender and Sage; base notes are Musk, Woody Notes and Sandalwood. However this can work anytime of year because it dries down to floral, wood and musk. its very chill. Believe the people who say this has ridiculously short longevity. It’s not just their skin. This won’t last longer on you. It’s unbelievable how it just disappears! Honestly, the original Hollister Wave is the only one I recommend. Wave 2 and Free Wave just pale in comparison since they're not aquatic/sweet enough. Very slight Invictus vibe but not as much as Zara Seoul or A&F First Instict Together. It smells good but not amazing. I prefer A&F First Instict Together over this. I'll give it 6/10.It is a pretty manly smell. Girls seems to love this scent. Just have to make sure not to over do it, and let it dry down before entering the world. I think if I'm honest with myself, I will hardly ever reach for this as I am a gourmand lover at heart, but I respect it and it almost hurts me a little to resell it. If it weren't for the strong presence of patchouli after it dries down, I would probably keep it. And to be clear I think the patch fits very well here; I just have never liked it. A musk base cologne. With a generic masculine smell, with a touch of sweetness.

I literally don't dislike anything about this fragrance. The longevity, sillage, concentration, and scent are all perfect to me. It's a outstanding sweet men's cologne. It turns a bit salty after a couple of minutes. Maybe a touch of coconut if you try really, really hard to convince yourself it’s there. I first bought Hollister SoCal in college. At the time, I was about 19 years old and actually wore clothes from the store. SoCal was and still is the scent that is sprayed on the clothes. Even though I don't wear Hollister anymore, I still wear the cologne nostalgically. This is a summer cologne that reminds me of the beach - not the water itself, but the experience of basking in the sunlight on a hot but relaxed afternoon. I wonder why Fragrantica doesn't have the main accords or the notes of this fragrance cause I'm super curious what they would be. To my inexperienced nose it's pineapple, coconut, musk, and wood. It's classified as an amber fougere so I guess it has amber and maybe lavender. And the whole thing is wrapped up in a slight iciness or menthol/cooling vibe. It's summer beach bar goodness in a bottle. And even the scent is very nice girly-like fresh fruity sweet scent. Not particulary my style but I wouldn't be disappointed if getting it as a gift at all :) nice one!It's not like anything else in my collection and it definitely serves the purpose. It's so clean and pretty without being overtly 'girly'. A neutral scent in the best way. The reviewer who described it as the ideal jeans and t-shirt fragrance was spot on. A fragrance worn all throughout my teenage years. This was THE fragrance to wear right behind Abercrombie & Fitch's Fierce, which would capture the attention of everyone within a few feet of you. This fragrance smells very clean and fresh with a hint of muskiness to it and can be worn all day and even into the night when the sun starts to set. THE definition of a hidden gem! It's so damn good but no one mentions it and you never see it on any lists. It's nonchalantly good. It's one of those colognes wore by a non-collector. That you ask what are you wearing? And they say "Some Hollister stuff." And you're thinking damn what Hollister stuff smell like that? And you wonder is that person lying to you. 😂 Funny enough the bottle is just labeled Hollister California. So once you disregard the box you could easily forget the name of the stuff.
