Let’s just say I was super happy on Christmas morning when I unwrapped one of my presents and realized I got this book from Santa. I adore Gilmore Girls. I watched the series faithfully as a teenager and love re-watching it as an adult. So, you can imagine how excited I was when I saw that there was a Gilmore Girls cookbook coming out. Any fan of the show will know how important food talk is in this series. This book is everything I could have hoped for. I ummed and aahed about getting this because I'd read Eat Like A Gilmore, but I love how pretty this looks on my bookshelf in my growing 'official' cookbook collection. Then we get a cute little Gilmore Romance Tree (similar to a family tree). Adorable!

She was, but now I at least eat like her. So her recipes were a win and a pleasant surprise. I didn’t expect to find them within. But the Non-Mrs. Kim recipes also surprised me as I can alter them in some way. Would Lorelai have survived so many Friday night dinners without her go-to drink, a gin martini? Despite Emily (Kelly Bishop) and her best efforts to derail her daughter with a Sidecar, we’ve lost count of how many of these drinks Lorelai had to sip on over the years while putting up with her parents’ shenanigans. If you’ve got some time on your hands, why not concoct your own gin with a craft brewing kit. You can call it “Dragonfly Gin,” or some other punny, Gilmore-worthy name. Gilmore Girls The Official Cookbook is a fun and delicious treat that I would highly recommend you add to your cookbook collection. So so fun. Food is such a central part of the entire series. They did such a good job to include the iconic foods of the show. The blurbs before each recipe were so fun and evoked memories from so many fun scenes. I haven’t tried any recipes but they seem thought out and delicious. It’s a beautiful book perfect for any GG lover.

Anyone familiar with “ Gilmore Girls” knows that food plays just as big a part in the show’s storylines as Rory and Lorelai’s constant rotation of love interests and the absurdly entertaining residents of Stars Hallow. Later that week, I met with a midwife and I liked her immediately. We started to share our news with friends and family and I began to feel their happiness on our behalf reflected in my own heart. I felt like I could finally breathe a little bit. Make roll #2: On the remaining 27 4-inch pieces, place 1 Butterfinger Bite, 1 Jujube, 2 chocolate chips, and 1 Junior Mint. One of the many gems in Stars Hollow is Luke’s Diner, where Luke Danes (Scott Patterson) serves up eggs, burgers, and donuts with a side of dry wit. It should come as no surprise that the cookbook is filled with diner-inspired bites, including the Classic Luke’s Diner Cheeseburger, Santa Burger, and tips on brewing a strong cup of coffee. You’ll feel like a regular, just like Lorelai and Rory. I also appreciated how the authors listed the people of Stars Hollow since the rapport and chemistry of the actors and their characters also contributed to the success of the show.
