Retinal tears can be successfully treated to prevent them from developing into a retinal detachment which can cause sight loss, but they do need to be treated promptly. Retinal tears from PVD are much rarer than PVD alone and only 10-15 per cent of people have a retinal tear following PVD. An even smaller number of these people go on to develop a retinal detachment. you have any sudden change in, or loss of, vision – or if a dark shadow or curtain appears in your vision. Vintage Espada―essential, topical, political, irrepressible; in his poems, mercy acquires muscle and close attention confers value―reminding us that protest and praise rise from the same source. Such eloquence in comradeship, elegy and homage to those who lit the path, and, oh, a fresh bounty of love poems, written 'not in lust but in astonishment.'"- Eleanor Wilner A readable but completely forgettable novel. As a person who remembers well that America's cup (being a kiwi) it was interesting reading a novel set in San Diego at that time. Unfortunately it all felt a bit meaningless in the end the crime just fizzled out. The characters were somewhat memorable and relatable IE Fortney and Zorn but not ones I particularly cared about. Then there was the character of Boggs who was memorable but such a range of clichés.

Eye floaters: what are they, how they are treated and Eye floaters: what are they, how they are treated and

In certain cases, floaters can be caused by much more serious conditions. One such condition is retinal detachment. As the vitreous shrinks due to aging, it can pull on the retina, causing it to detach.

San Diego has the reputation of being "America's Finest City," and it lives up to that reputation in m.any ways--sparkling bodies of water, wide beaches, abundant vegetation--but there is a seamier side to the city, as there is to most cities today. Behind the warm weather and glitter of new buildings lies a world of prostitutes and pimps, sailing fanatics and those with money to burn on the sport, and a not always sterling police force. This seamy side is the focus of this novel. Although I was drawn to the book by nostalgia for my years in San Diego, I closed the book with my impressions of the city definitely tainted. Floaters are very common and many people have them, even if they don’t have PVD. They’re floating clumps of cells that form in your vitreous. You can see them because they cast shadows on your retina when light comes into your eye. These floaters do not harm your eye. Floaters are small dark shapes that float across your vision. They can look like spots, threads, squiggly lines, or even little cobwebs. They tend to move across your field of vision as you move your eyes around. and they seem to disappear or be difficult to see when you try to look at them directly. The symptoms of floaters are similar to serious conditions such as a detached retina which is sight-threatening. The sudden appearance of floaters could mean that the vitreous gel is pulling on the retina, which could cause a retinal tear and lead to a detached retina. If aqueous fluid fills the hole left by the tear, sight can also blur. A retinal tear or detachment requires immediate medical attention.Floaters usually don´t go away on their own, although many people report seeing them less frequently over time. This can happen due to the brain gradually learning to ignore the floaters. As some of the other treatments for floaters can be quite dangerous, many doctors will advise their patients to try and ignore the floaters until the brain adjusts to them. Are eye floaters dangerous? If you have a large floater, moving your eyes gently round in circles may help. This moves the vitreous inside your eyes and can sometimes move the floater out of your direct line of vision so you’re less aware of it. Floaters for the first time or more floaters than you had before. The new floaters are usually noticed suddenly. There may be lots of new floaters or commonly a large cobweb-like floater. Macular holes, diseases of the macula or macular degeneration:the macula is the central area of the retina, a hole in the macula can cause distortion of your central vision. Not to be taken seriously, this world revolves around sex and alcohol. A reader is almost certain to hear several new, colorful, and imaginitive expressions for masturbation.

You should always ask your ophthalmologist for advice about what activities you should avoid doing and for how long as the advice given may depend on whether they feel your retina may be particularly at risk, for example if you are very short sighted or have a history of eye surgery.Eye floaters may be caused by vitreous changes related to aging or from other diseases or conditions: Eye flashes and floaters occur when the jelly-like substance in our eyeball (known as the vitreous gel) changes, shrinks or becomes more liquid. This process is not uncommon as we grow older and is known as posterior vitreous detachment (PVD). Pathologies related to high myopia, in which light reaches a focus point before hitting the retina, causing blurry vision.
