If you’ve read this far, you’re probably at least considering buying a bean-to-cup coffee machine. When reviewing a machine with an automated milk frother, you have to bear in mind, that they will never be able to produce a textured milk as good as a barista. Maybe in the future, but certainly not now. You have probably noticed by now that De Longhi are big in the automatic coffee maker space. They have 3 entries on my list of the best bean to cup machines. But they actually produce a wide range of machines. As you would expect from such a pricey machine, the build quality is also high. With a thermal milk jug and the option of using pre-ground coffee, some serious thought has gone into the design.As we mentioned, it’s impossible to grind coffee beans without making some noise. Built with an adjustable burr grinder, the Siemens can grind beans consistently while keeping their aroma. It’s great for producing espresso with an attractive crema, and there’s an option for a “double shot” for when you need a caffeine boost. There are also pre-programmed drink options for Americano, flat whites, and cappuccino. De’Longhi excels in providing a true bean to cup brewing experience. All you need to do is select your favourite roasted coffee beans and place them in the hopper. The hopper is airtight and will keep your coffee fresh and flavorful as long as the lid remains closed. To use the 22000, you first need to grind beans in the supplied grinding mill. There are several settings for coarseness. Once ground, you add coffee to the machine, choose the quantity and strength and press go. The coffee is then filtered, and the 22000 can produce up to 12 cups of coffee in in one go.Delonghi bean-to-cup coffee machines are amongstthe best in the UK. That’s great, but instant coffee is simple – it doesn’t make it good! To summarise, if you’re a coffee enthusiast who wants fresh coffee without spending lots of time, bean-to-cup coffee machines are almost certainly the best choice (that’s why they are sometimes called a fresh coffee maker).
