About this deal

The de As mentioned earlier, one time Jesus cast a demon out of a young boy, and the disciples approached him to ask why they couldn’t cast the demon out. In Matthew 17:20, Christ said it was because of their “little faith.” However, in Mark 9:29, Christ said, “This kind can come out only by prayer.” Essentially, the reason the disciples could not cast out the demon was because they were not spiritually prepared. Their faith and prayer lives were weak. For this reason, in ministering to those oppressed, it may be wise to take time to fast, pray, and saturate oneself in the Word before ministering to a person being oppressed, lest we find ourselves unfit and unprepared like the disciples. When ministering to the demonically oppressed, believers should rebuke the demonic spirit in the name of Jesus—recognizing their authority in Christ. There is strong biblical evidence that a Christian cannot be demon possessed. The question then arises regarding what influence/power a demon can have over a Christian. Many Bible teachers describe demonic influence on a Christian as “demonic oppression” to distinguish it from possession. To Beth and all seeking answers. I realize some of these comments are old as I just come across them thru an article in things I was researching.

Jesus tells the Pharisees that what they’re saying doesn’t make any sense. There’s a lot at stake in this conflict, and Satan isn’t playing games. The very fact that Jesus is casting out demons should be seen as a confirmation of His message that the kingdom of God has come. The man brought to Jesus in this story is blind and mute. These are conditions naturally attributed to physical causes but not necessarily considered signs of demonic oppression. In this case, Matthew says demonic oppression was the reason for these problems. In the Bible, the Gospel of Matthew offers a glimpse behind the curtain into the conflict between these two kingdoms: I don’t know about you, but I’m at the point where I cannot work because of it, and as soon as my savings run out, it’s going to get pretty bleak. The answer that those around me have suggested is to apply for social assistance as having a severe handicap. I know it’s wrong in my heart, because that money should be reserved for people in wheel chairs, and people with real mental illness, not hearing these voices and having demons control what they say and do. Demons are considered a form of evil spirits that can influence human beings in many ways. Although there are many non-believers about demons and their influences, many religions insist that these spirits can influence or cause disruptions to human lives and their faith. You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for He forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, He disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by His victory over them on the cross. (Colossian 2:13–15, New Living Translation, emphasis added) I’m repenting of sin from my past, & remebetkmg things I had done that allowed me to be severely oppressed.

Other effects that exorcists have noted are marital discord, illness with no natural explanation, the breaking up of friendships, etc, with the purpose of leaving the person isolated. I mistakenly was reading and accepting false doctrine and I believe lost my salvation for a time. Read the Words in red in the Bible over and over. These are the Words of Jesus in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. These words are the true words to the way of salvation. When ministering to the demonically oppressed, we must help the person recognize and get rid of any open doors in his or her life.

Well, that’s a long story, but here is the short version. Exorcism has been common in the Church from the beginning, as part of being baptized into the Church in the early days, and also for possessed people in general. Some have tried to confine the work of demons in the lives of humanity to that of "demon possession," with this thought being further propagated by poor English translations of the Greek New Testament that use the word "possession" in various verses that describe demon activity. However, the fact is that the actual Greek term used to describe a demonic presence in the life of a person is daimonizo, which is correctly translated "demonized." Therefore, getting free is often not the hardest part of ministering to the demonically oppressed; it is staying free. For this reason, we must provide biblical counseling to the demonically oppressed to help them recognize doors the devil may be using and close them. The important thing is to focus on human free will and our relationship with God. The demons are not central players here; we give them sway in the world only through our choices. Their job is to tempt us, but we make the decisions to follow those promptings. So, in a sense, they are behind all the evil, but it is we who allow evil to manifest. But they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.

Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house. When I woke up rescue squad was standing over me and saw a note I put on my apartment door to call 911, and they took the journal with me to ER and callled doctor and told him what I’d done so now I have no way to manage my pain. Demonic oppression and possession can be remedied by doing repentance as well as purification of the body and soul. The most effective way to stop demonic influence is to reclaim faith and solidify belief with a strong will. These elements will help to battle the demon and other temptations. Exorcism, the process of forced extraction of an evil spirit from the body, is usually reserved for demon-possessed people. However, there is little evidence and accuracy regarding exorcism. The exorcist is usually performed by a member of the clergy. Some people doubt the existence of the devil, believing that he is a human construct to explain the presence of evil. Others have perhaps an unhealthy interest in the demonic. The Church teaches that demons do indeed exist. What are demons, and who is Satan?

Jesus didn’t challenge the truth of this statement because the devil really does have authority over the world. Instead, He quoted Deuteronomy 6:13 in response: “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only’” (Luke 6:8, NIV). There are roughly one to four possession cases going in a major city at any time. Most exorcists are doing an exorcism monthly, weekly, or more often. It’s usually best to have sessions weekly for each person. Unlike false teachers, believers have authority based on their relationship to Christ (cf. Eph 1:20-22, 2:6, Matt 20:18-20). For this reason, Scripture calls believers to “resist the devil and he will flee” (Jam 4:7) and describes how we gain victory against the devil through the power of God and his armor (Eph 6:10-18). Revelation 12:11 describes how believers gain victory over the devil in the end times: “But they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.” The ability to cast out demons was not reserved for Christ and the apostles; it is an authority all believers have because of their relationship to Christ. Certainly, some may be more gifted at it than others, but we are all told to resist the devil and that he will flee (Jam 4:7). In the more extreme cases, the person can literally find themselves levitating right off their bed at times. Like James and Peter, Paul’s concern is the ability of the believer to stand their ground. To illustrate how to do that, he invokes armor imagery. But it’s important to notice that the focus is on the protective, defensive nature of the armor.Because people do bad things that go against God’s best for them (which is what the Bible calls “sin”), they are destined for death without Christ. The “spiritual rulers and authorities”— that is, the devil and his evil forces— want to see God’s creatures die because they hate God. The name “Satan” comes from a Hebrew word that means “accuser.” The devil accuses people of their sins before God so that they can be punished for them.
