There was steam, suspense and so much hotness! The one reason why Faith's books drive me crazy are her heroes and Mikhail was one of them! The choices he gave me when he stole me away from my home with an army of men were very clear— marry me or die. It really is a good story with a good plot. Lots of intrigue and secrets. It leaves you guessing who is behind the assassination attempt and while you might have a good suspicion, you will only be partially right. The development of the romance follows a more natural, believable path after chapter 4. The characters are strong, wanting to survive no matter what, but they do have their issues and worries to deal with which the eventually work out. They are multidimensional and grow on this journey. As the trio emerge from the castle Vinera escorts Dario outside. Dario has lost his eyesight but can hear the birds chirping and smell the flowers around him. Doluza catches up ready to kill Dario, who states that he came there to die anyway. Vinera begs Doluza to abandon his mission as Dario is already dying.
