About this deal

The optics of the scope are also quite good as and its a bonus that the diagonal adapter is the right way up so you can use it for both terrestrial and night sky viewing. I was quite impressed with the views I got of the moon and some great detail of its craters as they were nice and sharp. I managed to get some views of one of the constellations (Auriga I think). Jupiter and the Mars however were sadly no more than small dots with no detail but the again this is part of the problem of the setup itself which I will mention although if I had a clearer night sky and maybe better eyepieces, i could have seen more. The Sky-Watcher Heritage 130P provides a significant boost in light gathering and resolving power over the Inspire 100AZ at the same focal length, free of chromatic aberration and with a sturdy, easy-to-use tabletop Dobsonian mount. We enjoyed early evening views of Venus, where the planet’s phase was easily observed and Mars was very clearly a non-stellar red disc.Lunar observations were particularly enjoyable, with plenty of detail visible in the craters and not too much false colour on the limb. Here are some other features that users report to be thoroughly impressed with: Variable and High Magnification

Holding your phone up to the eyepiece with a steady hand is nearly as good an option as using the Inspire’s included phone adapter, and dedicated smartphone adapters are not that expensive to buy aftermarket and will be a safer and easier to use option for your phone. Alt-Azimuth Mount This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. To return faulty items see our Returning Faulty Items policy. The question is...whilst I know we should get some pretty lovely views of the moon...does anyone have any idea if there's anything else we may spot?A straight-through 9×50 finder will provide magnified close-up views of the stars and reveal stars and deep-sky objects fainter than what you can see with your naked eye. However, it can be somewhat uncomfortable to look through. A right-angle finder is also an option, and easier to look through, albeit heavy and expensive.

The extra magnification of your eyepiece will help you to take great photos of whatever it is you are observing, whether that is the the Moon and the Planets or anything on the ground if you are using it for terrestrial purposes (e.g. Wildlife). To fit the adapter, all you need to do is fit it on top of one of the eyepieces (instructions on how to do this are included in the box) and attaching the bungee cords. Your smartphone will then be held firmly in position. If you are unsure how to align the camera, tap the Menu icon button and turn on the Camera Setup Assistant. Now, when you go through the camera alignment screens, there will be information and videos to walk you through the process. The Smartphone Adapter is another highly impressive feature of the 100az. It enables you to connect your smartphone to your telescope (as long as it is wielding a an eyepiece with an outside diameter of 45mm or smaller – like those included).
