Welcome to Main Arts Building; within this building are various lecture rooms used for different subjects. The building is also connected to the Bangor University Library. In this Library, we have different rooms which hold books for various subjects and offer a place to read and study. Those rooms are:

Assistive technology room (ATR) – this is a restricted access space, equipped with specialised hardware and software for use by students with disabilities.Shankland is our grandest reading room. It’s a quiet room – therefore no noise when in this room please, and, like other reading rooms, no food or drink in here either. It's OK to consume drinks and cold food in the sofa area immediately outside of Shankland. The first thing I told my friends is, just go into the library. Don't wait for anything! Don't wait for someone to guide you don't wait for anything: just go. People don't realise the depth of resources the Library has. We unearthed some silent footage from a 1969 library welcome video, and asked students and staff to remix it into a Halloween film trailer. The winning entry was by Erin McLeod, a Film Studies student from the School of ACT, and it is uploaded below in all its glory.

Most of our study seats can now be used on a walk-in basis by current students. This means that you will not need to book ahead of using them. Everyone is welcome in the library, whether you're a member of the University, a visitor from another institution, or a member of the public.
App with over 4k magazines (english and other languages). Includes Dazed, Vogue, Elle, Good Housekeeping, Marie Claire, health and hobby magazines. We have material relating to the history of the University, from its foundations in 1896 up to the present day. Help us by suggesting a title which has motivated and inspired you, helped you with your research, developed your awareness, promoted discussions between you and your friends, challenged your perceptions or just something you have really enjoyed reading.

The area just outside the Richards reading room is where you will find the Teaching and learning support team. This team provides in depth support for students and staff to: Walk-in access to study and PC spaces is available in the Library, or if you would like to book a seat prior to your visit we have specific areas in the library which are pre-bookable for study tables, PCs, Macs and study rooms.These stairs lead to different areas of the Library, those being Shankland reading room and Richard reading room. There is a poem called the College on the hill on the wall where the staircase is. The corridor is long and narrow to reach these two places. The area just outside the Richards reading room is where you will find the Teaching and learning support team. This team provides in-depth support for students and staff to: The IT support team – based in a room just off reception, they can help with in-depth IT enquires and also handle IT equipment collections. Book an online face-to-face personal appointment to get library help where you don't need to type as you can talk to someone. You can borrow a laptop from our self-service machine on the ground floor at Cambridge and Chelmsford for up to 3 hours.
