The film is directed by Matt Reeves from a screenplay by Reeves and Peter Craig, based on characters created by DC, and stars Robert Pattinson (“Tenet,” “The Lighthouse”). The film will also be available to stream on HBO Max on April 18 and will be available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD beginning on May 24.

Never at a loss for words, the eccentric director is a joy to listen to. Fans will find this is a great place to start when they begin digging into the anthology. Documentary: "Shadows of the Bat: The Cinematic Saga of the Dark Knight" (SD, 73 minutes) -- The centerpiece of the 'Batman' anthology was an extensive documentary, "Shadows of the Bat," which ran well over two hours. For this stand-alone Blu-ray of 'Batman,' Warner has honed it down to only the segments pertaining directly to the first film. The three sections of "Shadows of the Bat" included here are: "The Road to Gotham City" (18 minutes), "The Gathering Storm" (23 minutes) and "The Legend Reborn" (31 minutes). dialogue, laughable special effects, and predictable performances. Neither the director nor the studio could have predicted that their dark and violent reinvention of DC Comics' iconic vigilante would change the landscape of summer cinema; paving the way for more substantial superhero fare like X-Men, Sin City, Iron Man, and, of course, director Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins and The Darkcharacters mouthing their own sound effects (e.g., for laser blasts), or it may result from director The LEGO Batman Movie Blu-ray delivers stunning video and great audio in this excellent Blu-ray release is presented with an average bitrate of 22.00, which isn't bad for digitally generated material and On May 24, “The Batman” will be available on 4K, Blu-ray and DVD. “The Batman” will also continue to be available to own in high definition and standard definition from participating digital retailers. Featurette: "Legends of the Dark Knight: The History of Batman" (SD, 18 minutes) - Perhaps my favorite featurette here, this is a very informative retrospective on seven decades of Batman. Second only to Superman in terms of sheer history and comic incarnations, I found "Legends" fascinating, if only because I knew so little about the character beyond the movies. A must-watch, I'd say.
