About this deal

How to avoid Christmas light hanging mistakes which can prove to be a festive fire hazard in your home

Anyone who needs additional information or has specific or more complex installations, feel free to get in touch or post a question below.

Hole mounted tag fuses are so-called because they feature a threaded hole in their casing which allows them to be easily screwed into place. Lo and behold, within 30 minutes, Karen has given us hot water..............excellent service as ever from Bright Spark – thank you

Despite their everyday name, domestic fuse boxes now typically contain circuit breakers rather than fuses, and they are more formally known as consumer panels. However, if your property still contains a traditional model, here is how to go about changing the wire in a fuse if it blows and cuts the power to one of the circuits that run through the building.

You should not run ANY SIZE fuse for your 150 watt LED or to “get the most out of it”!!!! You install a fuse to PROTECT the WIRE!!!!!!

The rating of fuse fitted within a plug depends on the power rating of the device to which it is attached. The fuse must be compatible with currents slightly higher than those used to operate the device. The inquiry I get from other people is what is the new outlet going to be used for. I just say it’s going to be used the same as the other 2 factory installed use. e.g. phone charging, small fridge. The simple calculation is watts divided by volts equals amps. After you have calculated this, it is a simple case of adding around 10% to the value and choosing the nearest fuse to match. This is a more precise method then just guessing should you require a 3, 5, or even 13 amp fuse. Replacing the incorrect fuse with the correct one will avoid the risk of you blowing the fuse. Fuses are very simple components. Inside each is a thin metal strip or wire called a resistor that forms a link in an electrical circuit. A number of different metals are used to make resistors. Tinned copper wire is a popular choice. This is copper which has been coated in a thin layer of tin to protect against corrosion.
