About this deal

It has a balanced XLR output and a ground lift switch on the rear panel, so connectivity is also good. Plus, an Aux in for jamming along to external sources and USB for updates and communication with the Guitar Lab software and it will act as a 2 in/2 out interface to your DAW. Finally, there is an expression pedal connection as well, so you can expand the control option somewhat.

The sounds are good. The pedal sims work exactly like you'd expect them to work and they sound fantastic. The B2 FOUR is perfect for jamming and rehearsing. The built-in 60-second looper allows you to build grooves, while the 68 rhythm patterns from the on-board drum machine provide the perfect accompaniment for practice. Connect the B2 FOUR directly to a PA or interface with the balanced output, or use the stereo outputs to connect to an amp. If the effect processing power is being exceeded, “PROCESS OVERFLOW” will appear on the display. When “PROCESS OVERFLOW” appears for an effect, it will be bypassed. (→ Note about the number of effects in patch memories) I had been using my Line 6 Helix as my bass rig either direct to house or run through my QSC 10.2. It's an awesome bass rig but I'm a pretty simple man when it comes to bass and I didn't need that many options and I also wanted to see if I could find something smaller.

The built in tuner is ok but the screen doesn't feel responsive enough for me. I much prefer my Polytune for that side of things. Some of the presets that are obviously trying to recreate certain sounds are…wishful thinking at best. For example: the "GoodTimes1979" preset sounds less like Chic and more like "booming muddy mess". It has a looper function that can record up to 60 seconds and 68 rhythm patterns that can be synchronized with the looper. The tuner can handle multi-string basses like Low-B and Hi-C. There’s also an output EQ function that adjusts the overall sound quality regardless of the patch.

BASS ANALOG OCTAVE

For intermediate and advanced players, there might be some who think, “My main board is large and cumbersome to carry, so I don’t want to add more gear for light rehearsals or practice sessions.” Despite its compact size that fits in a case, the B2 FOUR offers sound quality equivalent to higher-end models, making it fully capable for rehearsals. If your pedal chain has more than three options and you will be activating and deactivating various pedals throughout the performance, I can see it being a pain. Easier to swap between presets than to activate and deactivate stuff. Haven't really run into that myself but as I've been messing around it's been on my mind. With an impressive selection of 104 effects, including models of legendary boutique effects and preamps, the B2 FOUR allows you to mix and match up to five effects and amps simultaneously to create your own unique sound. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner, you'll have total control over your tone. Perfect for live performances and studio work with 250 presets

The compressors are...odd. I debated mentioning it because I can't really articulate what I don't like about them. I'm just not fond of them. Dies ist mein erstes Effektgerät und ich spiele erst seit ca sechs Monaten Bass, habe jedoch 20 Jahre basslastige elektronische Musik produziert. The available effect types include various bass effects and amp/cabinet simulation models. Effects can be selected from these types to be added to patch memories. Category Lots of simulated pedals to play with. Saves a bunch of money, especially when you're as indecisive as I am.Some of the presets that are obviously trying to recreate certain sounds are…wishful thinking at best. For example: the “GoodTimes1979” preset sounds like like Chic and more like “booming muddy mess”.

J'ai acheté la pédale d'expression "Zoom FP02M" pour les effets wah-wah, volumes, modulations, detuning, etc.. Following on from the recent release of the G2 Four and G2X Four units, Zoom have announced the upcoming launch of the B2 Four, a multi-effects and amp simulator pedal designed specifically for bassists that combines features derived from their flagship B6 processor ( reviewed in the August 2022 issue of SOS) with their latest Multi-Layer IR modelling technology. Amp SimulationI also wasn't exactly sure how the preamp models should be used. It seemed strange to me to put a preamp in front of an amp/cab sim, but some of the presets definitely did that, and I mean there's really no "rules." If it sounds good, it sounds good. I might just be too mired in old analog thinking of "Bass into amp/cab." I mean who knows, maybe a preamp into an amp/cab and running one of the DI models might produce something cool. I haven't tried yet. The presets also serve as a great way to learn the unit by analyzing them and seeing what's running verses what you're hearing. I remember one preset that was running the pitch shifter module but not actually doing any pitch shifting, but the unit itself definitely drastically changed the tone just being on. Another one used that same unit with a pitch shift of 1 cent to get a pretty good "With A Little Help From My Friends" sound. I never would have thought to use it in those ways. Eventually, after connecting the iOS app to it, I was able start getting a better idea of how it's put together. I eventually found a few presets where I really liked the sound and, with the app, moved them to the beginning of the list for easier access.
