About this deal

The emollient should be applied as soon as you have patted your skin dry to make sure it's properly absorbed. Skin reactions Excetra ® cream is formulary option for moderately dry skin as per Notts Emollient Formulary. (APC Sep19) Before using this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in the product; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details. Be careful not to slip when using emollients in a bath or shower, or on a tiled floor. Protect the floor with a non-slip mat, towel or sheet. Wear protective gloves, wash your bath or shower afterwards with hot water and washing-up liquid, then dry with a kitchen towel. Skin irritation from aqueous cream Epimax ® oatmeal cream and Zeroveen ® cream are additionally recommended for use as a soap substitute.

Zeroderm Ointment is a rich emollient used to moisture and soften dry skin in eczema, dry cases of psoriasis and other dry skin conditions. It is suitable for all ages and may also be used as a skin cleanser or bath additive. Adverse reactions: Children under 1: Seek HCP advice before use. Adults, the elderly and children: As an emollient: Apply to the affected area as often as required. Smooth gently into the skin, following the direction of the hair growth. As a bath additive: Melt about 4g (roughly a teaspoonful) of Zeroderm Ointment in hot water in a suitable container. Then add to the bath ensuring that the water has sufficiently cooled before getting in. As a soap substitute: Take a small amount of Zeroderm Ointment from the tub, lather it under warm water and use as required when washing or in the shower. Pat skin dry. Date of preparation: an overheating, burning sensation or stinging that does not settle after a few days of treatment – usually caused by a reaction to a certain ingredient in the emollient Purified Water, Liquid Paraffin 11% w/w, White Soft Paraffin, Cetostearyl Alcohol, Macrogol Cetostearyl Ether, Sodium Dihydrogen Phosphate, Chlorocresol, Phosphoric Acid. Indications:If you have any of the following health problems, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this product: skin cuts/infections/sores. Can be used for existing patients if switching toExocream/Zerocream is not acceptable to the patient. Only for patients unable to use ointment/creams/lotions, or where application without touching skin is required, as per Notts Emollient Formulary. If you are using this product to help treat diaper rash, clean the diaper area well before use and allow the area to dry before applying the product. Note that Oilatum ® Plus is for MRSA treatment at NUH where Octenisan is not appropriate in line with NUH MRSA policy.

Paraffin-free emollients should be reserved for patients who are intolerant/unsuitable for paraffin containing emollients due to increased fire hazard risks despite appropriate counselling. As per Nottinghamshire Emollient Formulary. It may help to apply an emollient before and after swimming. Leave enough time for it to be absorbed into your skin before you swim.
