About this deal

The Latnex is a great radio frequency meter and is sort of a budget version of the Acoustimeter. Offering only radiofrequency radiation detection, the Latnex does not offer a full range of detection but does some great quality for a reasonable price. The two largest categories are single axis and tri-axis. Single axis meters are cheaper than tri-axis meters, but take longer to complete a survey because the meter only measures one dimension of the field. Single axis instruments have to be tilted and turned on all three axes to obtain a full measurement. A tri-axis meter measures all three axes simultaneously, but these models tend to be more expensive. If you're considering moving or renting a place, bring along your Trifield Meter during house/apartment tours. The orientation of the meter does not matter while in the magnetic modes, because all 3 axes are combined. Your body and hand do not shield the magnetic field and do not interfere with the measurement.

The “Magnetic” setting uses a 3-axis sensor. This allows you to get accurate readings regardless of which way you’re pointing the meter. Triple-Axis – The Latnex does have a triple-axis radio frequency detector (the ball on the top of the device) which allows you to get accurate readings regardless of the orientation of the device. Weighted Mode– For a professional user, having weighted mode is handy. However for the average person using the Trifield TF2 to measure EMF radiation in their home or office, this option might be a bit confusing. (Pro-tip:just ignore the weighted mode unless you know a reason you need it.)Easy To Use – With a simple display and 7 nicely labeled buttons, the Latnex is a breeze to operate. Latnex EMF Meter Cons If you are measuring radio frequency magnetic radiation from say, a cell tower, or your smart meter, turn the dial to the RF settings (radio frequency). The Acoustimeter is probably without a doubt the best Radio Frequency (RF) meter on the market. It is extremely accurate, simple to use, and preferred by professionals. However, it does have its downsides. For example, it only reads RF radiation and is not designed to read electric field or magnetic field radiation. We’ll talk more about the positives and negatives of the Acoustimeter in a second, I just want to say that if you are looking strictly for an RF meter, this is the one you need. Many phone manufacturers produce devices barely below this benchmark. However, as you can read in my articles, a growing number of scientists and researchers find these levels to be nowhere close to protective amounts. Take a look at the chart below, which was taken from this report by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) about radio frequency radiation. Other than the Trifield TF2, the Cornet ED88T might be one of the most popular EMF meters on the market. In terms of features and price, it’s actually quite similar to the TF2, but there are a few reasons I’ve ranked it a bit lower. All in all, it’s a quality meter by a great company that I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with.

The Trifield meter will detect electric and magnetic fields in the 40 Hz – 100 KHz frequency range and Microwaves in the 50 MHz – 3000 MHz (3 GHz) range. Is the Trifield EMF Meter made in the US, and does it come with a warranty? The TF2 measures up to 6 GHz and so that includes the tower to phone radiation 5G works on (3.5 – 3.6GHz) While mostly harmless, some sources of EMFs can have higher outputs that might be worth keeping an eye on for health and environmental reasons. If you’ve been around EMF Academy long, you know that I love to recommend the Trifield TF2, and I think it’s for a good reason. The TF2 is Trifield’s follow up to the wildly popular 100XE model that had an analog needle display, but similar functionality. The TF2 brings some much-needed modernization to an already fantastic EMF meter.

Now, there are cheaper meters on the market, in fact one that I absolutely love is the Meterk ( see my review), however if you’re looking for an absolute quality EMF meter, that is simple to use and provides all the information you could ever need, the Trifield TF2 is my top recommendation.

Measuring AC magnetic fields is the strong suit of the Trifield TF2 and can give you a good sense of your exposure from typical sources, such as overhead powerlines and appliances. User Friendliness –I don’t personally feel like the Cornet ED88T is all that user-friendly. There are only a few buttons, which you would think would be a good thing, but it is not clear what they do, and I found that when first using the device I was stumbling around a bit. In contrast, I found the Trifield TF2 to be almost impossible to not use correctly, as you simply turn the large dial on the front to what you want to measure, and off you go. This concludes our guide on the best EMF meters. While any EMF meter will work for ghost-hunting, the meters we mentioned are the best for this purpose. As well as the meters listed here, there are plenty of decent EMF Meters out there. It doesn’t need to be specifically made for paranormal investigations! EMF meters have a wide variety of uses, so you actually need one to provide accurate readings.User-Friendly –Whether you are an expert on EMF radiation (perhaps you’ve read all the content on EMF Academy 🙂 ), or you’re just starting out, the Trifield works well for both. Trifield meters have long been popular because they are very simple to operate, making them great for beginners, but also have the accuracy and functionality that professionals are looking for. I personally think with the added LCD display, and “peak” indicator, the TF2 is an even easier unit to operate. The energy an object can radiate is measured on the electromagnetic spectrum, with the low frequencies being a low-risk and high frequencies being extremely harmful. Objects with low frequencies are things like power lines, your phone, and your microwave. High-frequency objects would be things like actual radioactive (toxic) waste, x-rays, and UV radiation (like a tanning booth).
